I use my laptop as my primary computer.  I have a standard mouse and extra monitor hooked to it, and I'd like to use a full sized keyboard, and printer, while still maintaining some level of mobility.  Can anyone recommend a good (or inexpensive) docking station for an Inspiron laptop?

...or for anyone who has experience, what I should look for in selecting one?

I believe you have to buy it from Dell, because it utilizes a unique connector on the bottom of your computer.  I think they're made specific for the type of computer you have.

That said, I have a laptop here are work, and I used to use the docking station but I found that it wasn't seamless when you want to undock it.  I used the two-monitor thing, but when I wanted to eject it to go to a meeting or something, I basically had to shut down and reboot.  Now, its got to the point where the computer locks up when I put it on the dock.

I currently use my laptop as a free-standing machine, with stuff plugged into the back of it.

Do you have a mouse and keyboard seperate from the unit?

I do, but right now, I'm not using the keyboard.  I am using the keyboard on the laptop.  But, I used it when the dock worked.

Its handy for sure, if you can get one that works seamlessly, like you can undock without shutting down and it'll switch to wireless internet, etc.  Mine wasn't that good (and it came from Dell with the computer).
