Word is both him and Chris McAllister are unhappy in Baltimore so I would wait for them to be released.  We need more help in our secondary than at LB so I would go after McAllister first.

Dick Butkus is a free agent so we wouldn't even need to trade for him.  However, when talking about ex-NFL greats we should stay "in the family" and go after Nick Buonticonti, AJ Duhe and John Offerdahl.

funny!

What do you guys think of maybe trading for RAY LEWIS. He played for the canes and would look good in teal and Orange. Maybe give Ricky or a third rounder for him

I would trade for Ray Lewis...  That is if we had a problem at linebacker.  That position is pretty solid for right now.  Let's concentrate on QB and CB.  We have three seventh round picks surely we could find another LB to develop from that round, if we wanted to go that route..

That's right, there are a lot.

Wide right, wide left, at least the Noles can "Get it up"

Which is more accurate:

People who don't acknowledge Ray Lewis as a current dominating LB in the NFL are UM haters.

OR

People who don't acknowledge that Ray Lewis is no longer a dominating LB in the NFL are UM homers.

Like a lot of things in life, the truth probably lies at a point between the two extremes. Despite my love of UM, I think this point is a lot closer to the "no longer" side. Ray Lewis, regardless of his college colors, is "not" a dominating LB today in the NFL. He's a very solid LB, if healthy, though he was as dominant over the past 10 years as any defensive player in the game. He's not going to turn back the clock at this point in his career though...and anyone who expects Ray to come in, play 16 games and post triple-digit tackle totals this year is in for a major disappointment. He has injury concerns out the wazoo, and when you combine that with his balls to the wall playing style, it adds up to Ray spending more and more time on the trainer's table and less time on the field from here on out.

Miami really doesn't need Ray Lewis...it needs defensive backs, a QB upgrade, more meat for the O-line and maybe a D-lineman or two. I'd have no problem seeing Nick grab a mid-late round LB or two to develop, but going after a veteran on the back side of his career does nothing to help the Dolphins.
