Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports the Indianapolis Colts just
agreed to terms with WR Reggie Wayne on a 6-year deal worth almost $40
million including $13.5 million in bonus money.

This gives Indy two of the three highest paid WRs in the league to go with the ridiculous contract Manning has. How can they pay all these guys?

Defer, defer, defer...As you may know, I'm an accountant, and let me tell you guys, I'd love to work one of these NFL teams' salary caps, just to see how they keep track of the cap each season with all the variables and roster bonuses.  It's gotta be a hell of a spreadsheet.

Yeah, I was being semi-facetious there. As a 49ers fan, I became intimately familiar with this process during our glory years. I also see what happens when NFL teams do that. Look at my Niners then...look at the Redskins right now. All bills must be paid eventually...

Yep, as a Niner you know all about the cap.  I just find the whole "dead money" thing interesting...I'd seriously love to do that someday.  Not as cool as my other dream job (Who wouldn't want to pilot an F-16?), but "capologist" for the Miami Dolphins would be pretty sweet.  Anyone got Huizenga's number?
