Dolphins to sign Pearson
By Alex Marvez South Florida Sun-Sentinel Posted April 28 2006, 3:54 PM EDT
The Dolphins have agreed with Jacksonville tackle Mike Pearson on a one-year contract, ESPN reported Friday afternoon.
Pearson, 25, has played in only eight games the past two seasons because of injuries. Pearson had started 27 of his first 32 NFL games for the Jaguars after being a 2002 second-round draft pick from the University of Florida.
Pearson joins L.J. Shelton and Damion McIntosh as veteran tackles the Dolphins have signed this offseason. Shelton is slated to start at left tackle, while McIntosh and Pearson are likely to compete for roster spots as backups.
