I personally don't like to pretend like I know how these picks turn out. The only reason I get upset in a draft is if a position is passed on that I know we need, for another position that we don't. ...ie - Jamar Fletcher and leaving Drew Brees on the board.
I am okay with our first pick -- while he wasn't the highest ranking player there by most draft "experts", Saban liked his style of play, and it's a position of need. So, fine by me.
With the WR we took, Saban elected to go with productivity over possibility. I like this approach, especially at the WR position, where we've had a bunch of "potential" guys that haven't been panning out. We need a #2 receiver, and that's what we got.
As for Joe Toledo, we needed a guy like that, and the only think I know about him was that 'Stroke was high on him before the draft.
After that, you're pretty much drawing straws.
I am happy with our picks, and think that we didn't do anything fantastic or terrible.
