Because L.A. residents would not take their team for granted now.  Still, I think they should only get one team, and the NFL shouldn't expand either.  If a team wants to move there, let them move there.  Small market teams that are losing money or having trouble drawing fans would be ideal candidates.

It won't work now, because football fans in SoCal are still MUCH more interested in college football than the NFL. Arnold Schwarzenrightwinger wants the NFL in L.A. because it is embarrassing to him to have that big of a market with no pro football, but the bottom line is that SoCal still won't support one NFL franchise, much less two.

L.A. residents pretty much care about USC/UCLA football and the Lakers.  They really don't give a rat's ass about pro football.

That's because the teams sucked. Have some success there and those hollywood types will come out in droves.

Actually, the Raiders won a Super Bowl in 1983 while they were in L.A, and the Rams played in one in 1979.   By the mid 90's though, when both teams moved on, neither one was making the playoffs.

That's when it counts. Remember these are "glamorous, hollywood types" they are not going to be seen at a game unless it is a contender. Going to Super Bowls in the early 80's and late 70's is not going to draw them out.
