I saw this earlier. I applaud this.
These parasites were not taking milk, food, or medicine, etc. It was alcohol.
Their lawyers say it is "excessive" and I think Jesse Jackson and the ACLU will be along within a week singing Kum By Ya. I agree with ya completely, Frimpster...I applaud the max sentences handed out here too. For your general useless trivial knowledge file though, that song is titled "Kumbaya," and is a bastardization of the old religious ballad "Come by Here, Lord" (which my grandmother used to sing to us kids).

"There's no such thing as objectivity. We're all just interpreting signals from the universe and trying to make sense of them. Dim, shaky, weak, staticky little signals that only hint at the complexity of a universe that we cannot begin to comprehend." ~ Micah Leggat

They're lucky they ended up in prison. If this was Miami after Hurricane Andrew, they could've all ended up with bullets in their heads.
South Dade residents didn't fuck around after Andrew. Signs were up everywhere saying that looters would be shot without warning.

Sounds like my kinds of people. Too bad we have to wait until a hurricane hits though. Too bad this type of common sense can't be applied 24/7/365 to all looters, taggers, car thieves, etc.
You're right....... People weren't too kind to price gougers either. I broke a guy's nose after he tried to sell me a can of baby formula for $75.

Why?
I'm guessing because people who have committed violent crimes have gotten less. Regardless, they will be out in a couple of years anyway, if their past is clean.

This is more than stealing. Its looting, which is a much harsher crime. Maybe if these thugs know thay they will get 15 years, they will think twice before looting.
Nope, because people that commit crimes do not think about getting caught. That is why they commit them. No one plans on getting caught.
