Seeing as no team is going to take on that kind of money, he will probably end up released as a "cap casualty".  Then the Dolphins should snap him right up.  He's young and proven.
I'm sure there won't be any other teams monitoring this situation.  I would be surprised if he gets outright released.  They'll probably pay him this year and work until next year to restructure, and then cut him next year.

Gilbride was the OC of the Super Bowl winning Giants.

Coughlin had the final say on all the plays. Many people don't know but Coughlin is underrated as a play caller.

Kevin Gilbride will go down in history as the offensive coordinator that orchestrated the greatest collapse in NFL History. Oilers vs Bills in the playoffs when Buffalo came back from a 35-3 disadvantage to beat the Oilers.

This led to Buddy Ryan clocking him the next year on the sidelines. He hated Gilbride and his offenses.

Coughlin is an offensive minded guy but he calls the majority of the offensive plays consulting with Gilbride.

The Damn article that I was really wanting to post, mentioned that Henning was there as a "fix it guy".He's there to groom either our WR.or Rb's coach to be the sucessor....(I'm not sure which one) I think the article was on Sunsentinal.com,maybe in the blog..but it's too old now to get to it... Angry (I spent 30 minutes last night looking for it,and another 20 minutes this morning)

It's not that our personnel isn't going to let us throw...Our Offensive coordinator is a Run,Run,Pick up the third down....
The Dolphins played in 4 Super Bowls and sent a WR to the HOF with that philosophy.

You sure?

Tom Coughlin "Defends" Kevin Gilbride, Playcalling

Explain something to me with this comment.  How is it the OC fault for the team blowing a 32 point lead?  Seems to me Ryan should go down as the DC that orchestrated the collapse?    I have a hard timing laying blame on the OC of a team when the Defense is the one that gives up a 32 point lead in the 2nd half.   He lead Houston to a 35-3 lead.  Not his fault for not being able to prevent the Bills from scoring 38 points.    You scoring 38 points, then you should win, especially when you know all the other team can do is throw.

Maybe that was the problem.  Ryan was more concerned with Gilbride rather than the Bills.

Buddy Ryan was not the defensive coordinator for the Oilers during that epic collapse.  I'm not sure who was, but he was canned within three days of that game, as was nearly every defensive assistant.  Buddy Ryan was brought on board the following season (1993) and put together a good defense, but the team did not make it deep in the playoffs and he left to be the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals at the start of the 1994 season.

Alright, then I guess that makes the comment that the collapse lead to Ryan hitting him the following year off base.

Jim Eddy was the DC that year for Houston.

Buddy Ryan is a punk, plain and simple.  He was a defensive genius, but proved he couldn't hack it as a head coach.  He's also not liked by his former players or the assistant coaches he worked with.

I dont see a place for Larry Fitz on this team.  Its seams that Miami is going on a Run-oriented offense.  Plus, Miami still need a freakin Quarterback.
