From the sunsentinal.com
The Dallas to Miami express could be getting another passenger.

The Dolphins have expressed interest in bringing in former Cowboys cornerback Nathan Jones for a visit according to multiple sources.

But first, Jones, who has 78 tackles and two sacks in four seasons with Dallas, will have to make it out of his visit with Minnesota, where he'll likely receive a contract offer in the coming days.

Jones, 25, has experience playing both cornerback and safety in the NFL, and contributed 23 tackles (19 solo), one sack, and one forced fumble in 2007. He was primarily used as a blitzer in the nickel package last season, and in that role Jones contributed five quarterback hurries.

I personally like the idea of signing him, more than I do the signing of Keith Davis....I feel he's more in the line of Micheal Lehan..from further down in the article, him and Lehan seem to be similar...

Hopefully, Nathan Jones does not accept a contract offer from the Vikings.  He is a young CB who has also played safety.  That kind of versatility is a very valuable asset.  I am hoping he comes to Miami because he is familiar with most of the coaching staff and will have a good chance to compete for a spot in the secondary.

Sounds too much like Jason Allen for my taste.

^^^ Players like Nathan Jones are needed to rebuild a franchise.  You cannot expect to go out and sign every top free agent available.  There are only so many spots on a roster, and a guy who can play anywhere in the secondary is an asset.  Jones could also be a very good special teams player for Miami.  He would be a good CHEAP signing for Miami.

The difference is, he won't be starting.  He's primarily for special teams.

Nathan jones is horrible. He's a good blitzer, but couldn't cover me. Jones and Reeves couldn't exit valley ranch fast enough.

Your exactly right. If Kenny phillips ever slipped into the 20's we need to jump on him with the quickness. Maybe campo can get something out of that overrated bum.
