As much as i would like to see J. Shockey im Aqua,   I dont feel that Miami needs his baggage.   I rather have Justin Peele  develop into a star.

I agree but what if Justin Can't?  Grabbing a player like Shockey may be the kick in the ass this offense needs. But not at the price they are proposing. Maybe JT goes to the Giants to help them try to repeat?  I'm sure he would be up for that.

I'd rather have Jason Whitten who is right now the best Tight End in the NFL. He can block, catch and run after the catch. Gonzalez is the standard but he's on the downside and Winslow in Cleveland is allergic to blocking and is more of a receiver (just like his old man) in a tight ends body.

Shockey is overrated and injury prone. His reputation came off of a pre-season game in which it appears that he ran over several defensive backs who were just bad tacklers. He doesn't even come close to Mark Bavaro, who should be in the Hall Of Fame.

If he's not getting the ball during the game, all phases of his game quickly go down hill. He's not even the best tight end to come out of UM (Bubba Franks is).

We've raided Dallas for everyone including the waterboys so why not try to put a feeler out for Witten. he's worth a second rounder. Jerry Jones won't budge on that but it sure would be nice!

Justin Peele becoming a star TE in this league is about as likely as Paris Hilton calling you up and inviting you over for a private skinny dipping party.

Better than having that waste of space David Martin.   Why dont you think Justin Peele cant become a star.   Im not saying he will become a Mark Bavaro or anything  but You never know  Grin

"This offense" doesn't need a kick in the ass. It needs a completely new ass.

Or as likely as a former basketball player who never played football becoming one of the best TE's in the league.  Roll Eyes

Anyone can turn into a star with the right system.

Oh yes let's sign another guy with emotional baggage.  That should really help the younger players.  Undecided

He's an asshole alright.

I don't have to have dinner with him. As long as he's making plays and channeling that negative energy towards opposing Teams I'm all for it.
