These are only some of the modes, but so far, they sound SWEET!

1) Mission mode (I forget the name)
There are several multiplayer missions outside of the main game.  This is where up to 4 people work co-operatively to carry out missions.  Think of the bank heist in HEAT, where each of your 4 players has their own job.

2) Deathmatch / Team Deathmatch
This is pretty straight forward.  There is are only a few areas (all near each other) where you spawn, but the entire city is open.  If you want, you can go off and get an army helicopter and come back.  It's all about money, though -- not kills.  So, if you camp with a sniper, you don't do as well.  When you kill someone, they drop cash.  You have to kill them and retrieve the money.

3) GTA Race
Pretty standard race mode....you go through the streets racing through checkpoints, while trying to ram and shoot the other cars.

4) Cops and Crooks
This is where it's at.  The way this works is that you have two teams -- cops and crooks.  The setup is that you have done something bad, as the crooks, like robbed a bank, and there is no getaway car.  One of your party members is the leader and has the loot.  It's your job to get them to the extraction point safely.  The extraction point is either a boat at the dock, a helicopter, a plane, etc.  As crooks, you can only see where the extraction point is, but you cannot see where the cops are.  You also start out on foot.

The cops start out in a cop car, randomly on the map, and have a dot on their radar where all of the crooks are, but not where the extraction point is.

The entire map is open, and you can have teams split however you want.  You can put your whole team in a car and have three dudes shooting from the windows, you can send your leader ahead on a motorcycle and have the rest of the guys setup road blocks.

As the cops, if you think you might know where the extraction point is, you can run ahead of the crooks and blow up the boat/plane.  You can really play it however you want.

I think the coolest part is that all of the modes use the entire city.

I don't think it's getting a PC release.

World of Warcraft has killed PC gaming.

World of Warcraft has killed PC gaming.

What do you mean?   No one else plays any other game?

Yeah, PC game players aren't buying as many new games, because they're putting their money into a subscription based model, World of Warcraft.  While, the console community has a "play it and move on" mentality.  Game makers are moving development to consoles, because that's where the sales are.

I've heard this theory from many analysts and game makers.  It's great that so many people are playing WOW, but it's killing the PC game industry, because they aren't buying and playing other games.

There are other reasons, too...scalability being a big one.

And it's a wonder why i haven't been gaming...I could care less about WoW....I've been looking for some newer better games to come out on P.C.....That now explains it....

Madden isn't even coming to PC anymore.

They canned development.  ...and it's the 20 year anniversary of the series.

Man, that is so not me. As a PC gamer THOSE are the game I avoid.

Whatever the case, I've heard the theories of PC gaming dying for years now, and this is one dude whose STILL gaming on the PC. My collection has far surpassed my console collection combined. As long as FPS's are on the PC platform,  I'm good.  Smiley
