I found it cheaper on the internet

« on: April 17, 2008, 08:41:38 pm »

Seems like an elementary school kid's question, but think about it for a second.  I've talked about this with friends but it was residing in that period not visiting.  It's really different because as cool as it must be to walk with Jesus for a week, it must suck to live forever in that time.  Of course it means you living here right now then traveling back.

Pick any time.  Do you want to see Dinosaurs for a day or challenge Napoleon to a fight?  How long would you like to go for?

I would love to go to Greece and follow Socrates around.  I would love to tell him what an impact he has made thousands of years after his death and how he revolutionized the way people think.  I would also punch the assholes who convicted and executed him for "corrupting the youth".  I'd probably go for a good year or 2 and try to beat out Plato as the star pupil...

I'd love to go to ancient Rome and see some of the architects working to design some of the great buildings there.

I'd go to Elizabethan England and punch William Shakespeare like Blackadder did.

I'd love to live for a while in Rome, assuming I was high society.  I think I'd be disturbed by the violence and slavery, but I do like pasta and orgies, so I'm kinda torn.

When dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Ever since I was a kid I've been amazed by these creatures that once lived.  I want to experience a once time where life flourished with these animals.

I would like to go back to see the founding of our country. Not necessairy so much to see the war, but the period just after when foundations of our country were being laid.

Rome - for sure, propably during the time of Augustus. However, I don't think they had pasta back then. If I recall correctly, that was imported by Marco Polo when he came back from China.

Being a woman, I don't think I would want to go back in time.

Then you should travel back during the witch trials and take grenades with you.  Then you can show them what a real witch can do.

Some good answers so far.

How about Jerusalem,  ~33 A.D.?

Going back farther to see HOW they built the pyramids, Stonehenge, etc would be cool too.

Roswell, New Mexico on July 7, 1947?

I would love to visit any really old time- as long as I could take all of the sweetest stuff from today. I'd like to ride up in the Camaro they're coming out with- newest cell and laptop- and see the people's reactions. They would probably try and burn me at the stake. Best take my stun gun too....
