On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful

« on: April 21, 2008, 04:19:50 pm »

I absolutely hate it when people treat me like I am an idiot...especially when they are the idiot. I go to Wal Mart today to get my tires checked becuase 2 weeks ago I get new tires and yesterday 1 is flat. I use fix a flat- refill and I'm good to go. I told the broad working at wal mart what happened and she automatically goes into explaining to me like I'm the idiot that they can't do anything to a tire with fix a flat because of the type of chemical it is. Do not fucking lie to me. I tell her that is not true- my dad is a mechanic and you can plug tires with fix a flat- they are just a pain in the ass to do. I tell  her that I know they do not plug tires with fix a flat- that's not my issue- my issue is that my tire is 2 weeks old and I want to know what's wrong with it and if it is still leaking.

They check it out- no hole/nail nothing. They tell me that they can't find anyhting wrong with it- but I need a new tire. I ask why- the same dumb broad tells me because the sidewall is worn. Ok....I tell her the most I could've drove with it low- and she says no that's not possible. By this time I want to smack the bitch. So I ask the guy if it was the valve stem that was leaking since there's no hole. He tells me- well no it's not leaking. No fucking shit- I believe you insert fix a flat into the valve stem- which would stop the leak. He says yea...well that's probably what it was then...and these are the brilliant people who put on the tires- no wonder they were screwed up. O and I checked my tires- and they are not worn.  And these are the dumbass people who act like I am the stupid one.....

That's your first problem.

Walmart is great if you're looking for something cheap.  But, you're not going to find something good.  If you have questions or want personal service, you may have to pay a little more, but going to a specialized shop is the way to go.  They probably have a checklist they go through and if you don't fit in their list, you're screwed.  They probably don't have a very good knowledge of their product.

Well, as comedian Ron White once said: "You can't fix stupid."

Yea I would normally not need to have them done since my dad is a mechanic, but he's in Ohio. I was going to go to the Honda specialist in town but it was out of my way lol- that's what I get for being lazy

Never use fix-a-flat. You aren't suppose to PLUG a tire anymore, at least not in FL because of the fix-a-flat being flamable (I still plug my own tires becauase I know I don't use fix-a-flat). All radial tires need a patch now and most shops won't do it with the stuff in there. That warning aside for all tire pluggers, those Wal-Mart guys did sound pretty dumb and tried to bluff you as well.

Slime your Tires!......I know that does you a lot of good now....Slime isn't flammable, and wont inflate your tire...but will stop leaks...

I tend to avoid Wal mart for my vehicle service.Jiffy lube=walmart..Neither are worth the time, or money .....I may by a case of oil there, and a filter washing fluid, and stuff like that....

I'd try to complain to the manager, especially if you have your receipt, bring it in,and explain that you aren't happy with the product....
