Best talent they could get eh?   Just a few hours ago, I could've sworn I saw you say this:

Is your opinion of my talent evaluation skills higher than it is of Ireland's and Parcells'? If the answer is the obvious "of course not," then you should take my personal draft-winces with a grain of salt.

I'm not sure I grasp the concept of getting 2 DTs, 2 OGs, and 2 RBs.  Was it to make sure that you had a guy for each of those positions?  Maybe it was a "best available" thing....  Who knows.

Not sure if it was a best available thing or not.  I think it's more along the lines of getting bigger and younger, as well as building your team from the point of attack on.

Well, fact is, we both agree that they passed over some major talent for some guys that are not household names.  Plus keep in mind that you do have some experience in scouting talent.

Maybe you should go work for the Dolphins.  Get all of us here free tickets to the games.   Grin Grin Grin

Good pickup.  I'm sure Samson Satele and Regan Mauia (assuming he doesn't get suspended or kicked off the team), will make him feel right at home.

I caught a lot of Hawaii football games this season.  Davone Bess can play, we got a steal getting this guy.  Take it to the bank.

You think his character issues prevented him from being drafted?

Maybe.  But, that incident was a long time ago, and from what I've seen of Bess, it looks like he's grown up.  His 40 yard dash wasn't that great, but if you've ever watched Bess play, this dude can fly.  40 yard dash time be damned, Bess has football speed.  Besides, I would think that front office would've asked Reagan and Samson for an opinion on Bess, and they probably stood up and vouched for the guy.  I'm glad they did!  I love this signing, I really do.

Good points.  If you could work your magic and keep us informed of any undrafted free agents, that would be great.  I'll start a thread for it.

I'm going to look at it this way...(all this means Zilch till they strap on a helmet)

We had a bunch of holes all over this team,We addressed a few holes on the O-line Jake long IMO great pick, especially if we would have taken one of the Ends (long,Gholston),Matt Ryan,or Dorsey...We may have had to trade back up into the first round to a upper tier Left tackle...B+ move

P.Merling pick I feel was a good move,Good first round talent at the top of the second round....B

C.Henne,I like the idea we didn't have to trade to get him he was there...Insureance if Beck doesn't workout, and Josh Mccown is a total bust....I'll give it a C move It's a QB,We'll see how much control Parcells has on the coaching,Henne wont see the field this year if Parcells has his way....

K.Langford, Defensive end/tackle what's that say about the guys we have now? Holiday,Starks,Roth,R.Wright,Solai...C I trust the trifecta saw something they really liked.....

S.Murphy,OG ...B,We have a hole at guard..it was a need pick, and I think we panicked to trade up to get him when there was a run of 3 O-lineman....C- (I think they might have liked one or 2 of the o-lineman that were taken in the same picks)

J.Parmele We are forgetting we let chatman (for nothing in return) go because he didn't fit our size requirements...This guy's got the size the bruising style of running that Our offensive coordinator is going to run...Booker can't do....C

D. Thomas OG - We need more depth along the line ...C We need depth yes,but we now have 3 guy's that are 6th round picks for 1 starting Guards spot (Mormino,Murphy, and Thomas....I'd like to seen this addressed higher as a fan....

L.Hilliard I have no problems taking the flyer, another bigger back...Ricky Williams 1 screw up from being gone,Ronnie coming back from injury,Then what Cobbs? Who i think will be gone.... C...

L.Dotson Another D-lineman Ok it's a 7th round flyer...but how about somewhere where we could use it...C-

Hindsight is 20/20...
LB Akin Adoyele and TE Anthony Fasano A for getting 2 players out of a 4th round pick....C on Adoyele,a B on Fasano...
I liked the trade Friday night,Still Like the Te....But have soured abit. Excuse me for being a broken record,But Dan Connor was projected to be gone late first early/second round....and he slipped to the third round....

With our offensive system that we're going to run,It's not super surprising to me that we didn't "draft" a WR..DB,does surprise me quite abit though....

I am happy to see us addressing some of outr other needs through the undrafted freeagents.....

Davone Bess is small and doesn't have great speed, but he has really good hands and runs really great routes. This kid average over 1,000 in all three of his college years. Good luck to Davone, because we need help in the wr position.

Phillip Merling, Chad Henne, Kendall Langford, Shawn Murphy, Jalen Parmele, Lex Hilliard, and Lionel Dotson.  Congradulations, and Welcome to the Miami Dolphins!  With that said, sign your contracts and get your asses in camp!  The number one overall pick got his deal done, what are you waiting on?

Like a lot of you I'm not too impressed with Day 2 however the plan is to beef up the line and this is surely our biggest need.  Keep in mind that this is a long term project and the first thing you need is to make sure our QB's aren't run over and this has been a problem for some time and some real effort was made to address this.  Overall I'm fairly happy although we'll know more of course when we see how many of these guys make the team.

Dang we missed out on Bromme by 1 pick! But it seems like Parcells wanted Henne all along so although I think brome was the better of the 2......(Like Tommy said)I'll go with Parcells until he gives me a reason not too.

Can someone explain why we went with 2 Runningbacks (our deepest position) when we have NO standout recievers?  Hell we could have picked up Colt Brennan in the 6th round.

I think S. Murphy with be the steal of the draft for us. Our OL is much improved after this years draft.  However I am concerned with Wide receiver, Cornerback and Defensive Line.   I know we can't do it all in one draft but why stock pile at a position like Running Back when we clearly have other issues?

^ I think those 2 we picked up will be groomed for fullback and blocking duties.  Maybe some special teams as well.

Carolina Panther fans around here sure are glad the Fins passed on Dan Connor. Miami missed out on this kid.

The dolphins drafted well and improved quality of the team.  I predict that the Dolphins will win twice, maybe even three times as many game this year as they did last year.   Grin
