This goes in the WTF department:

Quote
A 73-year-old Austrian man has confessed to imprisoning his daughter in a cellar for 24 years and fathering her seven children, police have said.

The head of the criminal affairs bureau in the province of Lower Austria, Franz Polzer, told the BBC that "Josef F" had confessed during questioning on Monday.

Authorities are caring for the woman, now 42, and her six surviving children.

Police have released photos of the man's basement which showed a concealed network of tiny windowless chambers.

The rooms, covering an area of approximately 60 sq-metres, were equipped for sleeping and cooking, and with sanitary facilities.

Full story here:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7371043.stm

There are soooo many questions here. Like how did the mom live in the house and not know that there were people living in the basement? And how did he explain the kids that they did raise? Seriously.

These kids just suddenly appear, and you have to take care of them? (they mentioned in the video a couple of the children lived fairly normal, going to school...)

The video also mentioned that this has happened twice, some other girl was kidnapped, and held in a basement for 8 years....

Reminder, avoid Austria...I don't want to get stuck there for a number of years... Cheesy

Yeah. I'm wondering if maybe they're leaving something out. Like maybe she's handicapped or something. Otherwise, I REFUSE to believe that she didn't know what was going on. If that is the case, she must be the dumbest woman on Earth. That takes a lot of work.

Yes. He did. 7 children. One was a set of twins. One of the twins died and he burned the body. Three of the children saw the sun for the first time in their lives. (18, 17, and 5 if I remember correctly.)

This is by far the WORST thing I've heard in a long time.  I would say ever but the holocaust is pretty grimey.  Sure as hell comes a close second, though.
