Gonzo has been stepping up in LF for Willingham since his back injury.

I am really excited about the depth that we have.

They called up Jones tonight, and hopefully immediately replaces Amezega in there platoon in CF.

We are going to be loaded with arms towards the second half of the year, Mitre and Anibal Sanchez are coming off injuries, and Voldstat and Ryan Tucker are burning down houses in AA.

Things are starting to come together.

This coming from the guy who, on TDMMC Saturday Night, said "The Marlins are how now, but they won't last down the stretch cause they don't have any pitching."

Want me to go find it in the archives? Wink

Yes, because that sounds more like Maine than me... Grin

Crap, I was hoping you wouldn't call me on that one.  I was never on the show with Maine, so it couldn't have been him, but I'll try to go find it....

I'll listen to the archive after work today, but the grammar there is so atrocious that it has to be someone else. Are you certain you can tell the difference between my voice and a caller's? Wink

That might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard anyone say on the radio. It totally sucks that I'm the one that said it... Wink

THAT SAID... At the time, their ERA did suck, and the pen hadn't gotten going yet. I think what I wanted to say<g> was that "unless their pitching comes around..."

Yeah, that's what I wanted to say...I am certain of it. Wink

The Marlins and Padres both played 18 innings yesterday...sucks that only one of them had a doubleheader scheduled.

I loved watching the Fish sweep the Giants doubleheader...

I was really happy to see that Adrian Gonzalez saved his 14th dinger to endthe Padres-Reds marathon yesterday after 18.

Side note...Lil_B texts me around the 14th-15th inning, basically saying that he hopes the SD-Cin game keeps going so he can get some more fantasy points out of it. I start laughing, because I am torn as well. I want my Padres to put the Reds away, but I definitely needed a little more fantasy stats out of Adrian.  Glad we could get both...

I think if the Fish would have moved to the North ie Palm Beach Vero area more fans could attend. Lots of peeps up this way love baseball. We get more fans at Grapefruit league games than attend the M.L. With the price of gas at $3.89 a gallon, hang on $4.02 (went up again!) and the cost of tickets who can afford the trip.

The point is mute by now. They are moving to the Orange Bowl, and its final. I am just pumped we have a stadium coming.

Edit:

Turn on your televisions this week: Big road-trip for the Marlins.

3 @ Mets starting tonight.
3 @ Philly starting Friday.
4 @ ATL starting next Monday.

Lets go Fish!

HOLY SHIT! Dan Uggla walk off grand slam? Wow. I don't know if I was more frustrated a week or two ago when they kicked our ass in philly, or philly fans after that loss.

Come on, now...THAT comeback took three weeks to prepare?

The mundane nature of the comeback should have delayed you even further... Wink

I like what I am seeing out of the Marlins...I think their pitching will get better as Andrew continues to improve, and some of the missing horses (Josh, Sanchez, etc...). I think FL already has the bats  to make a playoff run, and just hope that when they are still in contention once the trade deadline gets here, that management makes a deal to bring in a veteran arm to help the postseason push.
