Theft of Trade Secrets.

In order for it to be a trade secret, it actually has to be secret. Had Walsh used a pen and notebook to record to signs it would have been within the rules.

Thousands of people viewed the DC make those signs.  Most weren't pay attention to the signs but they were not secretive.

The taping made the processing of the signals easier, but that is it.  By taping the signs instead of recording them in a notebook, one can watch the sign, then the play then the next sign then the next play.  Otherwise you need to spend some time correlating the notes to the play.

What Eric Mangini did when he stole a laptop his last day with the Pats, is stealing trade secretes.

He got caught.  He got punished.

Others have done the same and nothing has been done.  Godell has said that although he has credible reports that another team did the exact same thing, he is not going to investigate.

Time to move on.

Seriously, if you want to argue the pubishment was not sufficient that is fine with me. There is still nothing new to this story in my mind and I hate the Pats.

Somebody is lieing.

Okay, this is driving me nuts.  The correct spelling is lying.

Why is everyone so shocked that Hoodie can't look at this objectively?  He is a Pats fan with the general Pats fan inability to take off his "the Pats rule the world" tinted glasses.

Since Hoodie believes that his god isn't lying and Walsh is lying, I would imagine hoodie must also believe Walsh is lying when he said he did not tape the walk through of the rams.

Because one states one lie does not mean that every statement thereafter must be 100% false.  I believe that his is telling the truth about not taping walk-thru because there is absolutely no evidence to support the idea that it was taped.  Not one person has ever seen the tape.  There was no power to the camera stations at the time of the walk-thru and nobody has come forward and said, "I saw someone with a camera at the walk-thru"

There is a rumor that it was taped.  I am pretty sure how this rumor started.  The fact is several members of the Patriot video team was at the Rams walk thru setting up equipment.

Person A tells Person B - "members of the Patriot video team was at the Rams walk thru setting up equipment. "

Person B tells Person C -  "members of the Patriot video team was at the Rams walk thru"

Person C tells Person D -  the Patriot videoed  the Rams walk thru"

Walsh was fired.  I don't know if you have ever been fired.  But I have.  I would love to get back at my ex-boss.  If I could get him fired, or fined, or embarrassed I would.  I hate the fucking SOB.  I might even be willing to stretch the truth to make him look bad.

Bill was not the only one to benefit from the genius "tag". Charlie has done pretty crappy at ND, or as one sportscaster said " It was sure easy to be an offensive genius when you knew what defensive scheme the other team was going to be in".

You might want to hitch up your pants there...your character is showing. Wink

I forgot that I started this thread.

Cheating aside, I still think that Bill Belichick is still one of the greatest defensive masterminds that we've seen in the last quarter century in football and I give him credit for that.

He was the mastermind of those Giant defenses NOT BILL PARCELLS! He's shut down some offenses that were potent (Broncos, Bills, Rams) so you have to give him his props.

I'm actually hoping that he shows the world that he doesn't need video tape to dismantle an offense.

Even in Cleveland, he was building a championship type defense before Art "the Rat" Modell moved the team. Cleveland was offensively challenged but the defense had improved by leaps and bounds.

He's still one of the greatest defensive minds to ever step on an NFL field.

We have slightly different hopes... I hope Belichick gets beaten down by a jealous husband, I hope that Randy Moss gets hit by a bus, and I hope Tom Brady contracts a venereal disease.

I find it odd one of the worst Head coaches in the NFL and a 6th round QB together has formed an incredible team, and during this run they have illegally video taped opposing teams despite warnings from the NFL they were violating.
So this is adding up to me, its not very sporting to know what the other guy will do next on the field. Belicheat said he didn't know he was breaking the rules, despite being warned it was against the rules and despite the credible accounts of Matt Walsh who said he knew it was wrong and it was cheating.
To me Belicheat is as about as credible as Roger Clemens, which is not at all.
It is ok for him to lie, but not for others to lie. I am hoping for real justice, championships have been stolen, think of all the lost revenue to all those teams that have been cheated against, including the Rams.
