We skipped the garter thing.  I gave a "throwing" bouquet to my friend rather than doing the fake toss.  We had a poster board with sharpies attached instead of a guestbook.  A cool thing one of my cousins did was to frame a picture of the couple with an extra large mat and had people sign the mat.

Weddings can be crazy.  My advice would be to set a budget and stay in it.  Then shop around for the best deal.

Ms. Tommy and I managed to stay in budget by tweaking a few things here and there, and entrusting certain jobs to close friends.

Frimp will be our photographer!!!

Yep...Cut him a hell of a deal too.

Dave, Congratulations...I'll do yours too for a good deal. Contact me if you're interested.

Thanks, Frimp.

I don't know if we're going to do a traditional photo thing.  We talked about just having 1 or 2 shots, since we don't have bridal parties and stuff.  But I'll talk to the old lady.

So, we thought it might be cool to name them after Beatles songs or something that better fit us.  So, "Yesterday", "Imagine", "Across the Universe", etc.

I had friends that did that...it was a HUGE hit and everyone commented on how unique it was.

Something I would check on is having the cake made by a private party rather than a caterer.  Usually they do a better job and are MUCH cheaper.  You can check with technical or culinary schools in your area to see if someone who is in school will make them.

Ms Tommy's sister does baking as a hobby and can make some really nice and moist cakes from scratch.  She's doing our wedding cake at no charge.... and that's her wedding gift to us.

White folks love the Electric Slide!! So that's all you'll need to keep them happy. But for me you gotta hire someone that will shake the maracas and yell into a bullhorn or I will not be attending.

And you gotta name my table Chewbacca, cause the Beatles are gay. That or after a Motley Crue song.

What did they name them after?

They named them after the songs that were big hits throughout their relationship...which was a pretty substantial list because they started dating as freshman in High School...so they took the "song of the year" from each year.
