This Sunday at 7:15 PM, TDMMC begins our title defense and the next step in establishing a Phins fan site dynasty. There will be no mercy shown, no quarter given...just a series of brutally heinous boxscore beatdowns that end up with TDMMC victorious.

It should be fun...well, for us anyway.

Since AZ and I consider it our personal mission to never see TDMMC lose a fantasy league again, we've named this year's team...

"TDMMC's Special Porpoise"

After the draft, I'll post our team up here. I know I speak for AZ as well when I say that we've really appreciated the support from you guys for this team the last few years. The Miami Dolphins may be in rebuilding mode, but TDMMC's Special Porpoise most definitely isn't. We will win the Phinsmasters Challenge again, and send a message to the other phins fan sites that TDMMC is the favorite "every season."

Yes

Yessir, in dominant fashion...best record (12-2) during the regular season, and then beat Finatics.com and Phinatics.com in the playoffs. We actually strung all 12 of those regular season wins together, with a squeaker 1 pt loss in the opener and 5 pt loss in the final week before going on our playoff run. The 12 wins in the middle...average margin of victory was 47 pts.  I actually emailed two opponents after matchups during that streak to apologize for our team's boxscore enthusiasm and make it clear that we weren't intentionally running up the score. Wink

What makes this year's draft a little different is that the majority of it will be broadcast live on FinsRadio.net during the Sunday night broadcast. The show will probably start while we are in the 3rd or 4th round.

Also...no IDP this season, only offensive players.

OK...draft in the books. TDMMC had the #6 slot in the 12-team snake draft. I was hoping that Addai or Brady would slip, but no dice. I chose the holdout-concern, Steven Jackson rather than stretch for a Frank Gore or Marshawn Lynch at that spot. Other than wishing I was one slot further up in round one, I thought the rest of the draft went well. RBs went away in a hurry, as was expected, but I think TDMMC has a team that can contend for another Phinsmasters crown. Your roster to start the season...

QB: Donovan McNabb
RB: Steven Jackson
RB: Earnest Graham
RB/WR: Julius Jones
WR: Braylon Edwards
WR: T.J. Houshmandzadeh
TE:  Vernon Davis
K:   Rob "m-m-m-my" Bironas
D:   SD Chargers

Bench: QB Jason Campbell, RB Kenny Watson, Brandon Jackson and LaMont Jordan, WR Calvin Johnson, Patrick Crayton and Jabar Gaffney

That is a pretty stellar team.  Braylon Edwards is my favorite in this pick...He's going to have a Randy Moss/T.O. kind of year this year.  Bironas is a nice pick up as well.

My healthy man-love for all things Braylon came out really early, as I prayed, pleaded and begged for my 49ers to draft him #1 overall in '05 instead of Alex "Doll Hands" Smith.

I hadn't kept this thread up this season like I have in years past, mainly because there didn't really seem to be that much interest<g>. All you guys actually care about are the results anyway.

TDMMC will have the opportunity to defend its title, locking up our playoff spot last week and ending the regular season on a 5-game win streakk and tied for the best record at 9-4. Unlike last year, I had to scramble to keep this one up, as many of the players I drafted spent the entire season in a state of massive suckitude (See Jackson, Steven). I added Steve Slaton in the preseason, and Matt Ryan in week 3. The Vikes D replaced the Chargers-D, since this league's scoring set doesn't give defensive bonuses for giving up big plays, and I added a few other fringe bench guys.

Bring on the playoffs... Go TDMMC!!

No matchup this week for TDMMC...we secured one of the two first round byes, and now await the winner of Finatics.com and Finheaven.com. This league has three playoff rounds, one week each, with the championship awarded after week 16, rather than week 17.

TDMMC's title defense is now officially on...
