He still has a ways to go as any Rookie, but when the Coaches need to feed you negativity to keep you grounded instead of praise for encouragement.........I think that says alot.

I'm really excited about what I saw out of Our 2nd round pick and this is no way a swipe at Chad Henne. I mearly wanted to back my stance on a QB who I feel was a steal in the 3rd and 4th rounds , let alone the 6th where he was chosen. Brennan will be a force to be reckoned with.

Let's wait until a little longer than one preseason game before either side starts with the "I told you so."

I doubt he will be more than a career backup still.

He wasn't very impressive this week.

I know he's not the second coming of Marino, but everyone here had him falling flat on his face. They claimed his success at Hawaii was due to the easy competition. All I'm saying is I knew he was certainly worth the 6th round gamble.   Wink

Again, any QB with any small amount of skill will look good against a 3rd team D.

He said with any small amount of skill.  McCown doesn't qualify.

I certainly do not disagree with you, but look at the guys we picked up in  the sixth round. Jalen Parmele-RB- He is looking sharp in practice and preseason,Donald Thomas-OG-This guy is so impressive he will most likely win the starting position this year. Parcells did a great job this year in the sixth round, these two players will make an immediate contribution to the team instead of holding a clipboard, so are you telling me you would dump Parmele for Brennan ?

I wasn't one of the blatant Colt-bashers, but I also wasn't - and still am not - overly optimistic about his ability to be a starting-caliber NFL QB. He looked good coming out of the gates though, but as his own coach said it "it could have easily been the other way."  We need to see how he handles being blitzed by the elite QB-eating DE's before we pimp him or flush him.

If I were a Redskin fan, I would definitely be excited about Colt Brennan....he has played very well so far, and they only had to use a 6th round pick to get him.....hopefully, Colt can stay healthy and we can see what this kid can do in the NFL.

Didn't we used to have a QB named Rosenfels who was a perennial preseason All-Pro?  He looked good filling in last season.  Based on that, and only that, Brennan is just an injury away ...

Colt Brennan is garbage. The guy is putting up numbers on 3rd string competition. Brennan and Andre Woodson stock fell faster than enron's this past offseason. Brennan was exposed in the sugar bowl against georgia. He player in a gimmick system which dosen't translate to the pro's. Plus he plays for the deadskins, so i hope his career goes into the toilet.

Please reread my first post. I am completely happy with who we got as a future QB. Before the draft no one was sure what direction the Tuna was gonna go. Did he like Beck? Was he going to address the position in free agency? I liked Colt as early as the 4th round and all I said was that if we hadn't filled the position with someone to compete against Beck by the 4th Round then Colt should be a no brainer.  When he went to the 6th I thought it was insane.  I think the kid is going to really prove the Naysayers wrong.

That said I hope the skins tank because we have their second rounder........... Wink
