The title of the thread is "for those that laughed when I said we should draft Colt Brennan" and now you are saying you didn't say that?  We won't know if he has skills or not until he plays in a real game.

Dude. Try reading a little before just reading what you want into it. I stated about 17 times already I made that statement BEFORE the NFL draft and BEFORE Anyone knew when or even IF The Tuna was gonna draft a QB. Had we waited until the 6th round and we didn't have a QB yet its a No brain-er.

The Question isn't who did we pick in the 6th round that we really seem to hit on. Its more who could we have gotten in the 2nd round if BP choose not to get a QB. But he did and I think Chad Henne is going to be special.

However the comments I received on Colt were that he was shit and should be bagging Groceries by the time September turns around. They said Hawaii was a Fluke do to the soft competition. I begg to differ. He will start somewhere in the near future as well. Mark my words.  Brett Farve was a 3rd stringer when Traded to GB from the Falcons..........

Given the poor performance of the Redskins starting offense, one of the biggest cheers of the night came when Brennan entered the game in the second quarter. Brennan, though still very raw for NFL, has excited fans by putting up good numbers against other teams all preseason and did so again.

Brennan drove the Redskins on an 8-play, 46-yard drive that led to the Redskins’ only score.

Brennan, who is behind No. 2 Todd Collins at quarterback, is battling Derek Devine for the No. 3 spot at quarterback.

Brennan played the final three quarters of the game. Devine did not play.


How many of you all here wouldn't like to see Brennan as our 3rd stringer instead of John Beck this year?  Tell you what..........that 6th round draft pick he would have cost  probably could be traded for a 2nd, 3rd or a 4th next year easily after his preseason performance.

I could maybe seeing him pay some mop up duty,late in the season....Till then ...I'm not gonna cry over spilled milk....


I chalk this up to the same as people whining we should have kept Seau,We should have drafted Boldin,Quinn..whom ever it's spilled milk..Let it go already....

More then just about why WE should have drafted him, its more about why I felt all along people were not giving him any credit for what he accomplished in Hawaii. I really felt he was worth a 3rd or 4th rounder Tops. Even a High 2nd.  But for those that said he should be a walk on and won't even play in the NFL.........They couldn't have been more wrong. (Funny how those same people are absent in this thread). Colt will go far in the NFL.........mark my word.

I understand what you are trying to say but I would not. If Pennington went down with an injury that would leave Miami with two rookie QB's with no NFL playing time.
I do believe Brennans future is much brighter then Beck's I just don't like rolling the dice with two rookie back ups.

First of all its Phonics, not phinics.  Second of all  I never met StL Finfan so How the heck would I know or care if she is a Female? We are all the same here as far as I'm concerned. But if she had a problem I would try my best to correct it.

As far as the draft being back in April........WTF does that have to do with the people that said he would not amount to shit? I didn't have much to go on back then did I?

Not that I care one iota, and mainly just to give D5499 someone specific to target with his Colt Brennan rantings, I'll go out on a limb and say that Colt Brennan is no Jon Kitna.   Kitna has been his team's starter for 7 out of 11 seasons since being an undrafted free agent out of Central Washington University.

Alls I know is we just cut a 6th round draft pick RB Lex something or other.  Guess we can't win them all. I guess I'd settle for those that said it to just come back and admit they were wrong about the guy.
