now on a 10 game winning streak, 7 games back of red sox in wild card

Jays have 7 games left with the red sox so if the jays can be at least 6-1 against them,  anything is possible.

I said this in July and was kind of laughed at - not sure people are laughing now.  Jays are one of the best four teams in the bigs.  They could beat anyone in a seven game series.

Had Toronto had the hitting they have now earlier in the season to go with that pitching they would be leading the AL East by 3 games at this point.

The Jays win streak combined with the Yankees packing it in have moved them into 3rd place. They would definitely have to sweep all 7 games from Boston to catch them, but then a team like the Twins or Sox would just jump in their place.

Still, a 90-92 win season may save Ricciardi's job. Only in the AL East could a record like that give you a distant 3rd. Fuck, the Yankees may finish 10 games over and be in 4th place.
