Tampa is sinking fast. I think there is better than an 80% chance the Sox win the division, with Tampa being bounced in the first round of the playoffs.

Yea, I say the Sox take #1.  Dont know how far they will make it in the playoffs.  Sox offence will have to score allot.  I dont like the Sox bullben this year but anything can happen in the playoffs.

It was a statement. It's nice to see the bats finally come alive a little bit, as there have been questions about their offense lately.

The pen is a huge question mark for them as they haven't exactly performed well this season. Heck, even Paps has blown a few games and seems to be relying on his fastball too much. Makes me wonder of there is an underlying injury there

The only way Boston and Tampa Bay see each other in the playoffs is in the ALCS.  Some of you might not want to see Tampa for what they are.  I do.

I want nothing to do with this team.  Boston's can't get away from Tampa fast enough in my opinion.  Anyone that thinks otherwise is nuts.

Tampa is also playing without Carl Crawford and BJ Upton right now and just getting Longoria back into the flow of things.

Write off this team and you'll regret it.

Tampa has very good pitching and great young talent. I don't want to face them in a 7 game series

^Glad at least some of you sox fans have a brain in your head...Kazmir got crushed, but don't expect that to happen again...let's see how Sonnenstein does tonight...I love how people are still underestimating the Rays and they haven't even lost the division lead yet.

Actually - yes they did.  The Rays were up 5.5 on the Sox at one point and are now tied.  Not sure what else they need to do to "lose the division lead."

As much praise as I am willing to heap on to the Rays, and I've been doing that all season long (actually before spring training started) I would also toss this little warning to Rays fans that think over running Boston is going to be easy:  You aren't dealing with an upstart team in Boston, one with a bunch of un proven vets.  You are dealing with a largely in place team that won the World Series last season... is very battle tested.

Boston has run uphill with a stiff breeze in their face a time or two.  They were down 3-1 last season going TO Cleveland in the ALCS and pulled it out.  They won't exactly be stepping aside easily just because Tampa is the sexy Cinderella team.

Rays 88-60   .595 pct
Red Sox 89-61  .593 pct

guess that threw me off...

Trust me...I worry about Boston more so than any other team...Not a team to overlook by any means as last night proved.

Good game.  Last time Sonnenstine and Beckett locked up it was about the same thing.  Funny thing about Sonnenstine, I actually got to spend quite a bit of time with him.  He pitched for the Sanford Mainers in the 2002 season.  He's a good kid, I'm glad to see him doing well.

It would be nice to see Tampa win if the sox can't do it. We all know how it feels to be heart broken by your team, (for me it was 24 years before the tables turned,) so kudos to them for taking the necessary steps to turn the club around.

BUT I don't think the Rays have the stamina to make it another month, the sox do. Papi may be coming alive now, Pedrioa has been insane, Beckett is great as always and Wake we just have to hope its a good day-last night was not:(
