People like in this video. There are too many people who have absolutely no ambition of their own, and believe that the government and anyone with more than they have owes them something. These people actually believe that its the government's job to pamper them and wipe their nose from cradle to grave. And, they all believe that Obama will do everything for them.

No, if he wins, it's because John McCain is a Republican.

Did you watch the link? That little twit thinks its Obama's job to wipe her ass for her. You don't think people like that would have anything to do with an Obama win? You think people like that are actually informed voters?

I would think that they are not.  But, there are an equal number of kooks on both sides.  I don't think that the kook vote supports any one candidate or swings an election.

True, but in this case, there are many kooks who are voting for the first time.

Perhaps the McCain kooks will stay home and the Obama kooks will not. No way to know now. Dave is right. McCain's biggest problem is that he's a Republican running on the standard Republican platform. It's not like the Reps have a good record for the last eight years. I would say that "McCain should have been McCain" but then the Rep base (whatever the fuck that is) would not have supported him. McCain will probably lose and the Reps will be out in the wildness for a few years. I think that's a good thing. The party (my party!) has allowed itself to be hijacked and needs to sort out its identity.

When did the "Rhinos" become "standard Republicans"?  Isn't McCain known as a very moderate Republican?  He's liberal by typical Republican standards?  Isn't he the Republican version of Joe Lieberman?

That's my point. He's running like he's a standard Republican which is why he's not finding support in the middle. The Republican party is too unpopular now. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to tack towards the middle (be himself) because the "base" would not have supported him. I think he was probably screwed either way.

McCain is not the republican version of Joe Lieberman --- Jim Jeffords is.

As he stated, he voted with GWB over 90% of the time more often than many of his republican colleagues.

McCain has been running to the right of his usual politics during this entire campaign?  That's a scary thought.  Does our two-party system really consist of liberal and ultra-liberals?
