just throwing this out there. It's been almost a season without our two best defensive men for the past 10 years.

I think i am over it, but one has to wonder, where would we be with these two on our team now, how many defensive breakdowns would we have had?

I miss Thomas a little...Taylor was turning into a diva so I don't miss him much...he would have been awesome as our other OLB though with all the weight he lost in the offseason

I actually miss Taylor more than Thomas, though I liked Thomas better as a player.

Taylor is missed because we lack pressure.  Thomas brought a lot of tackles, but that slack has been picked up.  I imagine that having a healthy Taylor, plus the kind of production we're getting from Porter, would change the game a lot.

I don't miss Jason Taylor AT ALL.  He was becoming such a diva in his final days as a Dolphin, he had to go.  Zach, I miss a little bit.  When Zach was let go in the offseason, I thought it would be weird not seeing #54 on the field, but to be honest, when I watch a lot of games I really don't think about it.  As the times change, so do the players.

I'm with Dave on this one; I miss JT the most.

And all the diva-stuff, well, IMHO, 90% of that shit is just media-made. (That goes for all players, not just JT).

I don't really miss them. They were some of my favorites while here, but now that they're gone, I don't really care all that much.

I miss Thomas, although I think it is best that he is not on the team this year.  I liked JT, but I never really liked the way he interviewed.  He always came to play, which I appreciate, but I am not so sure he was all that good for the other players.  Mostly, I think his enthusiasm sucked but he could always be counted on to do HIS job.

My opinion wont be popular on this board but I am glad they are gone.

Zach Thomas was a beast but he was aging and starting to break down. Its amazing to me that he has lasted this long. He was also making a lot of money.

I am not sad about JT one bit. He was a diva and making a lot of money while spouting his mouth about leaving the NFl to become a star. He was also making a ton of money.

Sporano and Parecells did everything they could to change the culture of this team. By getting rid of JT and Thomas they saved a ton of money for the future while cutting off the two leaders from the old regime.

Now Sporano and Parcells can plant new seeds.

Bottom line, the team is winning again.

He'll likely do one of those one day contracts to retire as a Dolphin. His name will go up on the ring of honor too. Taylor, I'm not so sure about.

I miss Thomas to a certain degree. I'll feel kind of bad if we finish with a better record than the Cowboys, or make the playoffs while the Cowboys don't.  Then, I'll get over it, and look forward to him signing that one day contract, and hope I'm at the game where he gets on the ROH.

I'm not sure if we kept Jason Taylor he'd have double digit sacks right now.  I miss Zach Thomas particularly when I see a running back break through the line and yeah I followed Zach and JT closely over the last few years.  I'm old enough that I remember watching John Offerdahl at full health.  At the same time, it's not the same as it was years and years ago.  Players come and go.  That's all there is to it now.

I miss them both because they were Dolphins for so long but production and price become an issue.  JP replaces JT but I'd have to disagree with the comment about Thomas.  Yeremiah Bell still leads the team in tackles.  Sad.  Zach has 85 for Dallas (2nd behind Brady James at 92).  Akin Ayodele has 58 tackles and where is SB winner Reggie Torbor?  Torbor is the D version of Ernest Wilford.  If Thomas Jones rolls us the last game of the year, I think we'll all be missing Zach Thomas.
