I could find several reasons to give a Game Ball to several players.....
Game Ball to Joey Porter for making the sack that sealed the game. When it's close and you need someone to step up and make a play, Porter came through just like he's used to.
Honorable Mention to Nate Jones for 2 sacks and Charlie Anderson for a sack and harassing Sean Hill all day long.

This explanation almost makes it sound like players coast until crunch time. Why not "step up" the entire game so it doesn't come down to the final drive? Three tackles and a sack, but the sack was timely so that's a game ball? Jones had 3 tackles and 2 sacks. C. Crowder 9-1 0.0 A. Ayodele 8-1 0.0 R. Hill 7-4 0.0 Y. Bell 6-1 0.0 T. Culver 6-0 0.0 W. Allen 4-1 0.0 J. Ferguson 4-0 0.0 N. Jones 3-0 2.0 J. Porter 3-0 1.0 M. Roth 3-2 1.0 As much as I want big run blocking interior linemen next April, this team really needs another pass rusher. I swear they rushed EIGHT on one 3rd and long and Hill still had time to connect to Isaac Bruce for the first down. A 3rd string QB connecting to a 36 year old receiver ... almost at will.
