Chargers, Broncos will play for AFC West crown on Sunday night

NFL.com

With the AFC West title on the line next Sunday, the Week 17 Broncos-Chargers matchup has been moved to 8:15 p.m. ET and will air on NBC as part of flex scheduling.

The NFL utilizes “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17. Flexible scheduling ensures quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots in those weeks and gives teams a chance to play their way onto primetime and into the late-afternoon 4:15 p.m. ET time slot on CBS and FOX.

I wasn't watching the game (obviously).  I had better things to do thank you very much.
...one of which was, apparently, posting to an internet forum to call "bullshit" on a person who was watching the game.

It's one thing to ask for my source (I happily would have told you).  Next time you call "bullshit," try that simple step first.  It can help to avoid making yourself look like an idiot.

God, this really makes me sick.

I'm sorry, but I think this was a bad, bad call here.  I'm sure you guys agree, but yeah...this really pisses me off.  I don't know if you guys already saw this or not, either, but on the BottomLine, they were already showin' the lines for some of the games and, yeap...we're definitely still in the midst of the logjam that is the 1:00 EST games on Sunday.  Living in North Alabama, I'm sure I'll get the shitshow that'll be the Indy--Tennessee game then so I'll be forced to go to a bar/BWW/Wings to watch this game too.  SHIIITTTT!!!

It was a very good choice.  It is the only game where BOTH teams control their own destiny and are in lose and go home mode.

Choices

STL @ ATL -  St is out of it.
JAC @ BAL  - jax is out of it
NE @ BUF - bills are out of it
KC @ CIN - both are out of it
DET @ GB - both are out it
CHI @ HOU - both are out of it
TEN @ IND  - both have clinched and can not improve
NYG @ MIN - NYG have clinched and can not improve
CAR @ NO - NO is out of it
MIA @ NYJ - if it is the last game of the day Jets might be out of it
DAL @ PHI -not sure that could be the fight for the last wild card (I don't follow NFC closely)
CLE @ PIT -cle out, Pit has clinched bye can't get homefield
OAK @ TB - oakland out
SEA @ ARI - sea out, ari clinched
WAS @ SF - both teams are out
DEN @ SD -BATTLE FOR DIVISION!

They made the right choice.

The source was asked for twice before I posted bullshit.  Once by Fau and once by me before I could not find anything and came back and edited my post.  I am not an idiot but you just made yourself one.

This is without question the correct flex game choice in this "winner-take-all" situation. The MIA @ NYJ game is NOT a winner take all situation, as the Jets victory does not clinch them the division. DEN @ SD, while terrible that one of these ridiculously bad teams get to host a playoff game, is the best game of the week due to what is at stake.

I wasn't monitoring this thread at the time (obviously).  I had better things to do thank you very much.

Does this excuse work for me, too?

The Dolphins/Jets game got flexed into a 4:15 start and will likley be a nationally broadcast game in that time slot.

Stay tuned.

Yes.
We both have better things to do than pointlessly argue so have a great day!

That choice I don't agree with and goes against the NFL week 17 policy of scheduling week 17 to maintain the integrity of the game.  NE-Bills and Fins - Jets should have been in the same time slot, instead of the Jets knowing the outcome of the NE game prior to the Jets - Fins game.  Both a 4:15, both at 1.  Either would have been okay.

If the Patriots lose, the game becomes winner-take-all.  If they win, the Jets lose motivation?

Is that what you're worried about?

I am not worried about the first half.  But yes the second half.
