Granted my vote (if I had it) would be conditioned the Dolphins winning this week and could be swayed by Chargers win if Rivers has a big game in win over Denver.

But I am leaning towards.......Chad Pennington.

This is the list of QB that have thrown more ints than Chad:

Brett Favre
Drew Brees
Jay Cutler
Gus Frerotte
Ben Roethlisberger
Marc Bulger
Tony Romo
Kurt Warner
Jake Delhomme
Joe Flacco
Peyton Manning
Aaron Rodgers
Tyler Thigpen
Matt Cassel
David Garrard
Donovan McNabb
J.T. O'Sullivan
Philip Rivers
Trent Edwards
Eli Manning
Kyle Orton
Matt Schaub
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Matt Ryan
Derek Anderson

Other than Chad who did the Dolphins add to the roster between a horrid 1-15 and a very respectable 11-5.

Many say Manning is the favorite.  Chad has a better completion rate and who is Chad's receiving core?  How about Mannings?  It ain't even close.

Much was made of the struggles Farve had learning the Jets offense.  Chad also joined training camp late in fact he became a Dolphin 2 days after Brett became a jet.  Yet he had not problem mastering the new offense.

I doubt he will get it, but he deserves it.

no one deserves the 2008 NFL MVP more than Chad Pennington... he SHOULD win this award.

I think he deserves consideration but I don't think he WILL win, because he's not a sexy name, and he doesn't play for a sexy team.

He doesn't make the highlight reel throws either, so most don't pay him any attention.

By this logic, you'd have awarded last year's MVP to David Garrard...

I think Peyton is going to win it...and I think he actually deserves to win it. You can make a case for Pennington, but I still see Peyton as the better candidate for the award.

That was only one reason I listed.  And if this was 2004 with Manning's 49 TD it would be a different story.  But nobody is lights out this year.

It is not just his not throwing ints, the dolphins went from being the punch line of late night tv jokes to leading the division going into week 17. He got to camp late, he learned a brand new offense in less time than future HOF and Pro-bowler Favre with none of the drama.

Last year's returning players (hope I'm not missing anyone): not counting R. Williams since he didn't play...

Offense        Defense          ST

R. Brown      M. Roth            B. Fields
T. Ginn         V. Holliday
D. Martin      C. Crowder
V. Carey       J. Porter
S. Satele      W. Allen
G. Camarillo   R. Hill

This isn't last year's team coached by last year's crew. He's part of a nice puzzle that has played well together and overseen by a more competent group.

BTW, CP's a short yardage passer, hence his low int's and high completion %, always has been. He doesn't fling it like Favre and throws stupid passes in order to try to make a play. He's a conservative QB. MVP? Debatable, I'm sure.

Pennington is a great quarterback, but I don't think he should be mvp.

Name one person the Dolphins added to the roster other than Pennington and Long, that the fans of 31 teams wouldn't go "who?" if you asked them what position the guy plays.

Dolphins only significant FA acquisition this year was Chad.

^^^

That's not what you originally asked. If you meant by well-known FA/draft pick. Then, yeah, you're right.
