We have not heard a peep from him.

I have even more respect for him that he hired coaches and then let them do their job.

I've stood by this since his hire... Tuna was going to settle into his front office role and will never coach again. I think he has enough influence on the coaching staff in both the overall coaching philosophy and some of the smaller details, just by being there and overseeing things. I think Sparano has done nothing short of an amazing job in his first season as HC in keeping the players focused in and creating gameplans that put the players in enough of a comfort zone to win football games. If Tony doesn't win coach of the year, it will be a travesty.

I agree, but there are also the coaches of Atlanta and Baltimore in contention as well.

He doesn't do press conferences, that doesn't mean he is hand off.

He could still be doing the game plans.

What ever they are doing it is working pretty good.

He still shows up at practices and the players know he is the one that he can still lift his foot high enough to kick anyone of them in the ass. I haven't see one game where he wasn't sitting up in the booth with his binoculars. He's not just checking out the cheerleaders doing splits.

They will go 4-12 next year and will be head coach in 2010

I hear a lot of talk about Mike Smith but the Falcons weren't 1-15 last year.  Sparano should be Coach of the Year but I don't see it happening unless we win a playoff game.

With the sale of the Dolphins about to go thru, it won't matter. Parcells can just leave if he wants per his contract. So he may not even be around next year.  this conversation won't mean anything.

p.s. - a new yorker is buying the team.. nice!

A New Yorker with enough money to keep Parcells around... Tuna will still be here next season.

I still think it's funny that it's a new yorker. Awesome!

They say he may stay the one and see how it goes.
