I don't really watch Super Bowl halftime shows to be honest.  At that point, I'm cooking up more goodies.  You can't really take a break during the Super Bowl because you'll miss the good commercials.

I'll probably watch Bruce Springsteen this year, but most years I just watch the puppy bowl on animal planet during halftime.

The funny thing is,is that all the young freaks that the network hires to run down and surround the stage and jump around and dance and act like they love whoever is on stage probably have never heard of Bruce Springsteen and couldn't pick him out onstage.
Halftime shows as a rule have become stupid and lame, but I gotta give props to the Stones a couple years ago,Mick is in really good shape for a guy his age and put on a great show.

Springsteen is about 60, but he'll put on a good show with the energy of a guy half his age. I first saw him live in 1980 at the Hollywood Sportatorium when he was touring for the River album, but "Rosalita" was always big at the mixers (dances) in the mid 70's while I was in college.

And you're right...most of the kids dancing around him on the field will have hardly heard of him, but all the boomers in the corporate seats will be singing along if he plays his old stuff.

You know, in the Super Bowl with the Ravens and Giants, the half time show was pretty cool. It was Aerosmith, NSYNC, and Britney Spears. The interaction was cool, and it was fun. I can't believe it, but I actually enjoyed it...until Nelly came out. He didn't fit at all.

Actually, the half time show was better than that Super Bowl.  Grin

Aerosmith, NSYNC, Britney and Nelly.  Nelly is the one that does not fit?  Huh

What I meant was that Nelly didnt fit as in what was going on. The interaction between Aerosmith, NSYNC, and Spears was really cool. Nelly seemed that guy who is slow, and adds a comment to a discussion that a group had 2 discussions prior. I can't stand NSYNC and Britney Spears, but they made for a good halftime show with Aerosmith. Thats all I was saying. Grin

Giants - Ravens, 1st SB after 9/11.  U2 did the half time show and during "One" they had to tapestries shaped like the Twin Towers with the names of the deceased scrolling up towards the sky.  Bono opened his coat at the end of the song to show an American flag.

Best.half.time.ever.

^^  I agree that's a hard act to follow.   Travis Tritt and Tom Petty Kicked ass as well.  I wish Eddie Van Halen would get his drunken ass together. The original Lineup or even Van Hagar would make a great Superbowl  1/2 Time.

Van Halen or Kiss. But, I bet we see Journey do one before VH or Kiss though.
