I'm not much of a Nascar guy,but I usually will catch the Daytona races on t.v.I noticed that while there did not seem to be enough time to get the race in before it rained, there did seem to be enough time to put on a pre race show by Keith Urban. Then today i flip the tube on and instead of cars racing I see some dude singing(and I'm being VERY generous when I say singing),point is....we all like or dislike our own kinds of music and thats good, but why do the stupid f-ing networks feel that its necessary to shove this garbage at us week after week?Does someone think that I will automatically run out and by a cd if they just show this idiot performing at a sporting event, when, actually it has the opposite effect(sort of like banners and pop ups). The absolute stupidest example that I can think of is the "comin' to you-r city-a" intro by Big and Rich during college football season.horrible!

LOL, so you aren't a nascar guy, but are bitching about what is on before the race.  WTF is wrong with you.  I don't turn on BET and complain about the programming. lol. jesus.

I think you miss my point. If I wanted to see Keith Urban,I would buy a ticket and go.But I wanted to see the Daytona 500 at the scheduled start time, which should be noon like it used to be(because something strange happens in Florida nearly every afternoon...rain)If they would've skipped all the b.s. they coulda got the race in.And I really don't like the media shoving shit I don't want to see at me.

Nascar is hard to watch for that reason, I agree.  I sometimes will Tivo a race, and they generally have about an hour of pre-race singing, national anthems, commentary, etc.  There's enough down time in a race to do all the commentary then....they should just do it during the race and cut out the fat.  If they want to have pre-race stuff, fine, but don't televise it.

I think you did watch it at the scheduled start time. You just want the start time to be different. Oddly this is the dry season so rain usually isn;t a factor regardless if you start at noon, 2:00, or the middle of the night. My suggestion is find out the actual race start time and skip the festivities.
