you guys are leaving out the 30-40 points he'll be sucking up in strikeouts each week.

Tony, at first glance I thought "do the deal, moron" but now that I'm looking at the scoring set, etc, and A-Roid's injury, I think you would have to decline this, and hope Ricky Nolasco has the season everyone is hoping he will have.

One other thing to take into consideration...since this is a 3-for-2 deal, and you'd need to replace Nolasco...what options are available on waivers for SPs? Your league uses short staffs, so chances are good that some of the sleepers I like are still on the wire.

He already has an empty spot at P (not including those on his bench)....  This would be his second.

Making my question doubly important, eh? Grin

SP's are a dime a dozen in FFB, you'll always be able to find someone with a that will give you decent WHIP and K's, even if they don't get you W's.

Absolutely...is there a Ubaldo Jimenez out there? An Aaron Cook or Joe Saunders? How about Nolasco's rotation-mate, Chris Volstad? Heck, chances are pretty good that I'd even drop the SP on the pine, Lohse, in favor of another arm. Shealy is a good drop candidate as well, when the time comes to refresh some of the players at the bottom of your roster in search of statistical euphoria.

Tony... It's hard to give you a full breakdown without knowing who you're likely to add to replace Nolasco, but I'd say stay away from this trade. Nolasco's upside and A-Rod's injury ??'s make this one a rough deal to swallow by this league's rules. By the numbers alone, I think Tex and "A-Rod x 0.8" come in about 130 points higher than Longoria-Upton (which sounds like a lot, but really isn't for this scoring set), but unless you see a really worthy SP to replace Nolasco, you could lose pretty big.
