Yep, this year's first rounder and next year's, plus Kyle Orton...

Good trade for Denver...I wouldn't have thought they could get two first rounders in the deal.

Kyle Orton is not the answer though... Grin

Good luck mcdummy with orton.lol...the bears just got a franchise Qb, you just got a ticket to the umemployment line. Within 2 years you're ass is gone. Cutler will come out smelling like a rose, mcdummy will look like an idiot.

The Broncos also gave the Bears a 3rd round 2009 pick.

The Broncos raped the Bears, but sadly Cutler is the best QB they've had in many many years...And seeing my Mom jump up and down..with Glee at getting a new QB....Worth every penny....

I have to agree with Gocowboys- McDaniels just wrote his ticket out of town. This years first round pick is #18 overall, and next years will probably be lower. Those two players won't make the type of impact that will improve the Bronco's, considering that they were on the decline anyway.

It may seem like the Bronco's "raped the Bears", but only time will tell. If Cutler is able to get the Bears over the hump (and I said "IF"), then the trade was great for the Bears.

I think time will tell for sure as to who won in this trade. The bears made a bold and big move at the same time as well today.

I will say this.... the Bears butchered their next two drafts in order to win now.  I personally can't say who got the better end of the deal until I see what the Broncos do with these picks.  As it stands right now, the Broncos can easily get Mark Sanchez with the #12 pick.  However, they could package the #12 and #18 picks and move up to get Matt Stafford.

but the Bears don't have a No. 1 receiver (hell, they don't really have a true No. 2 either) and the lost their two best tackles in the offseason. I think they're taking a huge step backwards this season, with or without Cutler

Hold that thought for a second.  They just picked up Orlando Pace

I'd be willing to bet they go looking for a top receiver in the draft.  That's pretty much all they need.  That defense is ferocious.

I agree that getting rid of a Pro Bowl QB is crazy. We know from experience QBs do not grow on tress, but I have to disagree with your comments about the picks. I'm not sure about the Broncos status but you have to consider they should also have their own first round picks to pair with what they receive from Chicago. You can get lots of talent to improve your team making two selections in the first round two years in a row. You also have some good fire power for moving around with those extra picks also.

Ahh no faith in Marty Booker? (who I think is gone now)  Devin Hester? Rashied Davis (faster Marty Booker Clone, think Derrius Thompson)

Cheesy Urlacaher is in his tenth year, Ogunleye is in his 9th,Tillman is in his 7th...Alex Brown I think in his 7th or 8th,briggs is in his 5th or 6th year already..The defense is slipping and aging....While I think Cutler is a better playmaker, and an upgrade, the no recievers are killer...I think they'll continue to utilize Greg
Olsen,Desmond Clark,Matt Forte, and Kevin Jones....We'll see how god Cutler really is with out those really good Wr's he had in Denver....

The Bears haven't made a nice bold move like this since...err firing Ditka?

I think it's worth it for the Bears.  They've been playing QB roulette for years on these bums.  2 First rounders is nothing, if it works.

I agree.  They got a proven commodity which is more than most that are drafting can say.
