1. they were hoping to actually get something in trade.

2. keeping him gave them the best shot at recovering some bonus money

3. delay taking the cap hit.

^^^^the same exact reasons we kept Ricky Williams.  The difference is that Ricky decided to play football and not cause more shit in the locker room.

I'll bet it's the same for Vick.  I'm sure Vick wants to play football and not cause shit in the locker room.  It's just that the Falcons wanted to disassociate themselves with a convicted felon.

I wouldn't have minded signing Vick if the Dolphins hadn't drafted Pat White.  If there's a QB that would be perfect for the Wildcat Formation, it's Vick.

If there is any place were Vick would make sense it would be the Dolphins.  Then next year draft Tebow.

With White he is perfect.  They could split the QB roles.  But that means the defense doesn't know if they will be an extra WR, TE or RB when the Dolphins are in huddle.  If the defense has too few DB have White lineup at WR and Brown go out for a pass with Vick as QB on a spread formation.  If they have too many DBs Vick lines up at TE and you run the ball.

I have video evidence to the contrary...

That doesn't surprise me Sunstroke, especially after what I read about him while he was with Minnesota.

Back on topic, the guy was an ok college coach at Stanford.  He gets to the pros and doesn't win anything despite having at the time the most prolific offense in NFL history.

He gets another job at Arizona.  I think based on who the Cardinals were in terms of their losing-ness, 8-8 would have been considered a success.  Couldn't handle that and then gave us one of the great all-time news conference meltdowns of our time, second only to Jim Mora.

So really all he's ever done in football is get pissed off at a reporter after the game and break a few microphones.  The fact that he's allowed to comment on anything other than breathing is quite honestly a miscarriage of justice.  Anything he says is meaningless.
