It doesn't matter to him if he's asking for the kind of money that No. 3 picks get and not the kind of money that folks like him that are picked tenth overall get. And it doesn't seem to matter to him that he's never even played a single minute of NFL football. He wants that money.

And it appears that he's willing to not play in order to get that money, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. At least that's what his cousin and "adviser" says. That way he can re-enter the 2010 draft. "Michael just wants fair market value," says the cousin.

Crabtree's agent supposedly didn't know the threat was coming, either. You can be sure he wants to make his money this year and not wait for next year. Crabtree apparently wants more than Darrius Heywood-Bay got from the Raiders ($38 million). But he was picked seventh overall, Michael. It makes a difference.

I wouldn't give in either.  Al Davis made a BIG mistake by reaching for Heyward-Bey, but that doesn't matter.  The 10th pick is the 10th pick, regardless of the situation. 

Shit like this is why they need to renegotiate the collective bargaining agreement and put limits on rookie salaries.

Hmmm, you go lower than anticipated, and fairenough no one foresaw the Al Davis random pick, but you really think you're going to go HIGHER after a season of not playing, and having proved you're REALLY difficult to sign?!

It will be interesting to see what happens, there's bound to be a lot of people interested, if he goes again int he draft next year, my money is on Al Davis signing him!

Here it two contracts you can sign either one.....

1. Standard 5 year slotted contract.

2. 4 year deal at league min salary plus a $40 million dollar bonus if you win OROY.

You think you are such hot shit. Then sign number 2.

Both offers expire when practice start tommorow. And if you aren't in camp tommorow, then see ya at the draft because there won't be any further offers.

I dug up my "Open Letter to NFL Rookies" when I heard about Crabtree yacking about possibly holding out. I think the first thin that Crabby needs to do is fire his cousin/advisor, and then smack him for being an idiot.

SF actually has some talent at WR this season...Josh Morgan is really developing into a good looking young wideout, and I think Jason Hill is primed to be more productive this season as well. I sure would like to see Crabdiva out there, but we aren't hurting for targets at the moment.

This is good for the 49ers, actually. When was the last time they did anything at all in the NFL? they have been the NFL's quietest losing team for the last 7 years, and the Singletary shows up and tells Vernon Davis to get the hell out of there and they start winning. I like it.

Watch out for Vernon Davis this year... Our new OC, Jimmy Raye, is really looking to get him a lot more targets than the past system provided, and Vernon has chilled out quite a bit and is playing hardcore by the rules for Coach Singletary now. It's been a while since I was really optimistic about my 49ers, but I'm starting to get that way.

Now...if we could just settle our QB position, life would be beautiful.

Crabtree's cousin isn't his agent. His real agent is Eugene Parker, who has more pro bowl clients than Tom Condon. His cousin, David Wells, is just an advisor, and he probably isn't qualified for that position either.

Not sure why Eugene Parker hasn't told his client to cut loose the idiot cousin...
