Remember what I said prior to the draft...I begged for SF to grab Sanchez, and when the Jets did instead, I shook my head, as I "know" that Sanchez is going to be a successful NFL QB, and I hate to see the Jets get better.

I know Dolphins fans don't want to hear this, but this Jets squad has a shitfest of young talent at the skill positions. Sanchez, Shonn Green, Dustin Keller, Jerricho Cotchery, etc... to go with a very solid O-line. Their defense, with Calvin Pace, Bart Scott, Darrelle Revis, Kerry Rhodes, etc... has a lot of talent as well. Anyone who thinks the Jets are gonna be pushovers this year are in for a rude surprise.

Tongue  My thoughts exactly. I truly believe the Pats will start a steady decline and the JETS will become our biggest problem twice a year.  I hope Bill picked right on those Corners........ Roll Eyes

I picked Sanchez for offensive rookie of the year and got laughed at.  I hope he does well just so I can have the last laugh.

Sorry.......but I actually enjoy seeing the Jets lose more then I enjoy seeing the Dolphins win. Its kept me going through the last decade of TFB up in New England.  If the Jets get a ring before we do I'm not going to be a happy camper.  Indifferent

I say he's still overrated. I wasn't that impressed with him at USC. He looked good saturday night, but that was against the rams second team defense. Let's see what happens this weekend when Sugar Ray Lewis and the ravens introduce him to the NFL.

^^^ I don't expect him to do much against the Ravens, but expecting any QB to do a lot against that D, much less a preseason rookie, is pretty unrealistic.

What I DO expect is that all the "he's overrated" blind sports fans will use any poor performance against the Ravens as an opportunity to bash him.

I saw about half of his playing time last night.  He looked like crap.  He had a pick 6 and another that should've been, into Ray Lewis' hands with nothing but open green to the endzone.  The only completions that he had were dumpoffs, one on 3rd and long that was way short of the first down, and the other where the RB had a great run after catch to rack up yards.

His stat lines showed a TD, that I didn't see, but he was certainly nothing frightening in the pieces I saw.

He looked about like I expected last night. Baltimore's starting D looked as brutal as usual.

He's still a ridiculously talented young QB, and I still worry about what he is going to do for the Jets squad over the next 4 or 5 seasons.

yeah my favorite team won last night.....WHOEVER PLAYS THE JETS!   But even though he got picked off a few(so did Peyton manning in the early years) he's got me deeply concerned.   Indifferent

What impressed me the most is that when the game was over, he gave props to the Ravens defense, took the blame on himself and didn't bat an eye. Methinks he has plenty of the mental skills to go with all those physical gifts.

He's gonna hit some rookie bumps, that's just how it works... I just hope those bumps help keep the Jets in Miami's rearview for a little while longer.
