And Marc makes a triumphant return to the board.
The NFL not pulling back on the blackout was dependent on 1 and only 1 thing, $. The minute they let blackouts lift, yeah, they'll see a decrease in attendance. Whether it be 10% or 20% in the first year, its going to happen. The league is just trying to protect their revenue stream.
That said, I think it's Bullshit!!! I hate blacked out games. I shouldn't have to pay $150 (40 x 2 for tickets, 50 for food and beer, 20 for the monthly subscription to match so I can bring a new grilfriend) every weekend to be entertained from 1-4:30 on Sunday.
I'm a fan, I spend my money on a few tickets here and there and on unauthorized Jerseys from China on Ebay (which are getting harder to find now a days...). Where the NFL makes money on me is on commercials. I believe that the NFL is going to be seeing less and less in ticket revenues and eventually suspend blackouts for a year or two. But in the mean time, expect 5 minutes added to half time so they can push in a few more commercials so that revenue sharing can go up to cover ticket losses.
Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
