I watched Chad last season and the start of this season do what he does best, throw the ball 10 yards, no more no less! I am Happy he holds the record for completion percentage but then again if you cant throw the ball more than 10 yards I am pretty sure you are going to be able to do the same as good ol Chad.....
It is time for a change, we brought Henne in because he can throw the ball deep and he is a SMART QB.....I was at the game in Atlanta and I watched Chad look off all of his deep recivers and try his little dump pass the whole game. Hey Fassano you guys are making a lot of money to coach this team and make the changes neccessary to put your team in a winning situation. I think it is time to watch the film and realize your QB (Chad) does not have the arm to throw the ball deep and be accurate. I have been a fan since 1976 and year after year since Marino retired, I have watched this team run the same conservative offense with different head coaches. It is time to make a change. This fan is done until Henne or White is givin a chance to show what they can truly do. Chad thanks for last season but it is time to retire......Good luck this year Phins I will be back when the Phins grow some Balls!!!!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the way the offense approached the game.

The problem is that Miami's offense is not built for quick strikes. If you have a conservative offense with quick strike capability, you can take your shots.

Miami had a conservative offense in the early 70's AND quick strike capability with Bob Griese and Paul Warfield. Shula wasn't afraid to let Griese air it out and Griese had a  stronger arm than what people gave him credit for.

Miami doesn't have a true burner on the other side of Ginn to REALLY stretch the defense. Camarillo, Hartline and Ginn have the same speed but the burner on the other side is Patrick Turner but he's not ready yet.

So it's not all Pennington.

The offense played just fine.  The Defense evidently needs to be run and forced to tackle in practice until they throw up on Wednesday and Thursday.

Is it me or is anyone else tired of hearing this noodle arm story over and over again? Pennington's arm looked just fine when he zipped a pass 42 yards on the money to Ginn in the end zone (who dropped it by the way).

Watch a replay. The ball was on a rope and hit Ginn in the hands. That was a perfect pass dropped by the receiver. It wasn't a lob pass, he didn't have to run halfway down the field to get it there, he didn't need to pull out a slingshot for it. He threw the ball well, but people have fallen into the hype.

Ginn stopped and waited on a floater on one and the other he short armed. I assume the short armed one was the zipp you were referring to?  It's been a while since you've seen a good Dolphins QB as you are expecting much less these days. Watch Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco or even Chad Henne ... just to name a few new QBs. Put in Brady, Manning, Favre and he isn't even in their area code.

Say what you will about him but Zip on his fastball is just totally crazy!

Zip may be the wrong word, but this is not a floater by anyones standards.

You can see my post explaining why over in the anti-fins section, but I really don't think Pennington is the problem.  I believe he is being coached to throw the ball underneath at all times in the interest of preventing turnovers.  When Pennington first came to us from the Jets, he would look at matchups and take some shots at intermediate throws.  Now, he doesn't even look intermediate.

I think Pennington's history suggests that all of this short passing is coaching staff driven.  I won't argue that deep ball issues are Pennington's fault, but he is definitely capable of a solid intermediate passing game.  Interestingly enough, our receivers are also primarily intermediate threats.  We have this combination, yet we throw 5-7 yards in most attempts.  Blame it on the coaching!

see ya - we don't need fair-weathered fans.

If you're waiting on Henne or White to be this team's savior, its going to be a long, depressing next few seasons for you.

Blah blah blah...Pennington sucks and can't throw...yada yada yada...

Meanwhile I don't think it was Chad dropping those passes that were hitting Ginn Junior in the chest and numbers?  Pennington's line Monday should should have been something around the area of 265 yards and two scores.

I think some people need to watch the entire sequence of a football game.  There are 11 guys on the field at the same time for a reason.

Not sure where you get the second score from, but the problem with Pennington is that his lack of arm strength makes what should have been an easy catch into a pretty difficult one. You can blame the receivers every time, but, statistically, you're going to get a lot more incomplete passes if the balls are more difficult to catch.

He was also VERY luck not to have a pick-6 on a short out-route that the corner had read all the way and Pennington's slow-mo ball gave him every chance to grab it. Luckily, he went for the bat-down (with two hands, even) and the result was "just" an incomplete.
