I'll start by asking all Ricky-haters to leave the room.

Alright, is it just me or is Ricky no longer "Ricky"?  I just don't see the streamrollin', down-yer-throat performances anymore.  Is it the play calling?  Offensive line?  Or has he just relinquished his game as we knew it when he ROCKED?!   He's obviously older than he was in 2002 ... but with such relatively limited mileage, I thought he'd be more than the "plug" back he seems to be anymore.

Your honest, thoughtful opinions?

Agreed.  After tonight's game, I lock them both up for 2011 at least.

I was more like "Do it old school and give Ronnie the ball every play".  Ricky had a few good plays, but where he would get 1-2 yds, Ronnie would get 3-5.

I'm a big Ricky fan but Ronnie played much better than him tonight. He still played well but didn't seem to have the explosiveness at times.  I wouldn't say he's lost it because he looked just fine in Atlanta last week and he still did very well.

My intent was to poll those of you who cared enough to respond with thoughtful decency and class.  We always have at least one person more interested in spewing insults rather than being polite.  Thanks to those who read a little deeper and didn't drop the ball here.

I found it cheaper on the internet

Ricky is much needed.  If you see the wild-cat whenever Ronnie fakes to Ricky they had to respect it and still keep containment on him.  Although he may not bulldoze defenders like he used to, thanks to him, Ronnie will probably have 3-5 years of his service life extended.

^ Yeah, I see that.   I guess I just miss the cannonball missle from 2002.   I hope there's more to come.

I think Ricky is just a little wiser when he runs. Even when he would gain a yard, he would slam into defensive linemen but he doesn't do it anymore unless he has an opening. He's still needed in the offense.

Yeah, I used to get goosebumps whenever he'd plow over dudes even bigger than him.  I still saw flashes of that tonight, however, it is a lot less potent than it used to be.

Ricky ran HARD last nite and took some pretty good shots, definite asset to the team.

Nice to finally see more Ricky fans taking a good stand!    But please resist embarassing yourself by resorting to name-calling and the like.  It's the difference between a cheap shot and a good hit.  You know what I'm talkin' about.   Wink

Ricky's DA MAN!!!  Smiley

Ronnie's probably better at this point in his/their careers, but despite what happened in the summer of '04 (and I was just as pissed as most others), I still will have a soft spot in my heart for him for a long time after the '02 and '03 seasons...playoff-less results or not.

It would be nice to see him truck some linebackers and DE's and definitely corners again, though, if even just for 2 or 3 games.  Reminiscing can be so much fun, especially with someone who was as badass as this guy was.

I'm a huge Ronnie Brown fan and don't like Sticky Ricky... however, I thought he had a GREAT game against the Colts. Maybe not with the numbers to back it up, but while Ronnie got the yards that were given, Ricky (and Cobbs, the few chances he got) always seemed to plow on for a couple extra. Great stuff.
