I kinda like him in the Booth. I think he makes intelligent remarks and I just like his style.  I hope he sticks around. What do you all think?

He knows what he's talking about and he's actually amusing to listen to.  I'm still not a fan of Mike Tirico but not because I think he's a shitty broadcaster, I don't like his style compared to Jaws and Gruden.

Enjoy Gruden this year cause this will be it I am assuming. There is no way that he doesn't at least coach in the college ranks next season, if not the NFL.

He will be coaching your Donkeys next year.

On the positive side of that, he'll be working with an over all #2 or 3 pick in next year's draft.  So there is something to look forward to!

I've lived in the Tampa Bay area my whole life, so I hear more Bucs talk than anything else.  He gets too much credit for that Superbowl win of his.  He took over a great team, and it wasn't his "offensive genius" that won them that Superbowl, it was one of he greatest defenses of all time....a defense that he broke apart later because they weren't "his guys".

He (and I say he because the GM Bruce Allen was his puppet) ended up spending money on players like Charlie Garner at the end of his career, and Luke Pettigue who was a huge bust, when players like Drew Brees were out there for the picking.

The biggest reason I don't like his ass is that he alienated players.  Everyone thinks Keyshawn Johnson is a douche for his antics in Tampa right?  Wrong!  Gruden alienated him and made it seem like it was all Key.  Trust me, I'm no Keyshawn lover...in fact I don't like the guy very much, but he did alienate him from the team.  He did the same thing with Alstott and Shelton Quarells.  There was a reason that players wouldn't sign with Tampa after the Superbowl, and he was the reason.  I think Cato June was the biggest name they signed since they won a superbowl, and where does he play now?

Point is, Gruden is a fake douchebag and was a horrible coach that gets way too much credit.  I'll admit that he isn't a bad commentator, but he is a grade A douchebag.

I don't give a shit if you're a douchebag. Belichick is the single biggest douchebag of all time, but he is a hall of fame NFL legendary coach.

Gruden is over-rated, yes, and he did take over Tony Dungy's solid defensive team. His "style" only works well for a short while - like Dan Reeves or Jim Fassel or even Dave Wanny...after a very short period of time, it wears off and that's that. This is what happened to Gruden.

Sucks though because he is an up-front kind of guy and he's not shy about telling a player to F off.

This is pretty terrible since Grudens old team made the super bowl the same year.  How do you think you could do keeping a team contending when you have only 1 first round draft pick and 1 second round draft pick in the next three years.

Gruden is an above average NFL coach, and I'm sure people think he's a jerk but I like his style and were I a player, I'd love to play for him.  I think he does just fine in the booth.  He brings fun and energy back into the booth if nothing else, which MNF hasn't had since Don Meredith.

Being in Orlando obviously we hear tons of Bucs info and I think that everyone, including Gruden, gave Tony plenty of credit for the win. I really wish Tampa wouldn't have let him go because he is a good coach.

On a personal note I'm thinking this time off will do him a world of good and whoever lands him next will be the benifactor. Let's go Jacksonville!! Wow ... did I just say that?

The Raiders might not have won a ring........but they were competive as hell under him. They haven't been the same since he left.

I'll give credit where credit is due and say he was a great coach when he was with the Oakland Raiders.  He was barely a .500 coach over the 7 years he was with Tampa though (win % was .509).

once again, when tampa bay traded for him they sent oakland 2 first round draft picks and 2 second round draft picks.  tough to be competitive when you have no way to build a team.
