once again, when tampa bay traded for him they sent oakland 2 first round draft picks and 2 second round draft picks.  tough to be competitive when you have no way to build a team.

They mortgaged their future to hoist the Lombardi trophy.

He didn't have to build shit though, the team was already built.  He eventually had draft picks, and not a one of them has panned out.  He passed on Adrian Peterson for Gaines Adams for gods sake!

Again, living in Tampa, I have heard more Gruden talk and more Gruden interviews than everyone on this board.  He was a mediocre coach at best, and he is a douche (which was my main point to begin with).

5 other teams passed on Adrian Peterson - none of them with a better player to show for it.

Considering the arguments made over the years about drafting a running back in the first round, that's not one of the points I'd choose to criticize.

We get it. You think he's fake, not real. Who on TV Is?   maybe Joe thiesman is TOO real because I cringe hearing him in the booth. Not as bad as Dennis Miller......but not far behind IMO.  Jon gruden was very pleasant. He knows his shit and added to the game experience.

Gruden is better than Tony Kornheiser so I'm all for it.

Jon Gruden actually got two teams to the Superbowl without being on one of them.  Oakland sucked before he got there, they sucked after he left.  Tampa had a better defense, but they don't look that great this year and aside from their offensive line, I don't see them improving anytime soon.

Well, the Bucs just benched Leftwitch and Josh Johnson is getting the start now.  Johnson only played division 2 ball, but he holds the record for best career QB rating in the NCAA at 176.  Another good QB played division 2 ball and I believe he plays for the Ravens and is pretty good.  I see the Bucs improving under Johnson.  Playoffs?  Probably not, but they won't be as bad as they were because they have all the tools on offense.

As for Gruden, I'm done trying to explain why he sucks, because no one is going to see my view on it.

This coming from...where the hell do you live?  I know I live in the city he's coached for the past 7 years and if you ask any Tampa person that knows his ass from a hole in the ground they'll tell you I'm right.  Don't hate on me just because you're ignorant on the situation.

So The Entire population of Tampa are Gruden haters? I know a few Tampa fans that were bummed when he left.  Hell I can even scratch up a few people that dig Can Cameron here in South Florida. You don't dig Gruden. We get that. But leave the entire population of Tampa Bay out of it please.

Okay, I'll leave all of Tampa out of it.  The MAJORITY of Tampa hates his ass.  I'm sure I know more people here then you do that would agree with me.  You like him.  I get that.  But, like I said EARLIER, no one on this site is going to agree with me so what's the point of arguing anymore?

I'm not arguing, I'm discussing. And I really couldn't care who likes what about Gruden. All I said was I dug him in the Booth on Monday night. He's a pretty good commentator and you agreed with that. Thats all.  Even Dan Marino , who I have a small shrine dedicated to in my Den, can get a bit dry when he's commentating. I think Coaches have a way better perspective and outlook of the game as opposed to Ex Players who really can only comment on 1 aspect of the game with any authority. Kind of like Madden I suppose.
