Doesn't Garcia play for the Eagles right now?

Garcia is a Eagle.  He signed when McNabb went down.

America's team

Garcia is literally rotting away in Philly. He has absolutely no value to that team right now. I am assuming that when McNabb is available that Garcia will be released and free to sign with anyone.

^^ Probably, I think he might have been insurance incase McNabb is out long-term or incase Kevin Kolb played like crap.

Maybe we could make the brilliant move of trading a second round pick for one of Philly's back up QBs!

Let me add that I don't endorse the idea.  Just saying that he is available.

Garcia is another Pennington.  Very accurate, smart decision maker, great game manager, but can't throw the deep ball.

Does he know our offense?  I think the reason Philly picked him up was just because he'd been there before.  I don't think we want to bring someone in to learn at this point.  Henne seems like the choice to start.

In a situation where Chad Henne isn't already on the team or we know he's not going to get any better, I would agree to pick up a veteran.  However, we don't know what we have with Henne, and it's time we found out.  I would say sign someone to mentor the kid, but that's Pennington and David Lee's job now.

Nah.  Garcia's 38, and the playoffs are a watery mirage in the distance that's actually a mouthful of sand (they ain't makin' 'em).  Play the kid.  Find out if he's got the chops.  Settle the position going forward.

Good call.  Thigpen has some good(?) years ahead of him so Thigpen over Garcia seems logical if that was the choice with which we were presented.
