Yesterday on Dan Patrick they were talking about Aha,and it came up again today....Great Video, kind of catchy..I admit I like the song...

I'd have to put Eddie Grant - Electrice Ave. as my favorite one hit wonder....

What's your favorite one hit wonder?

Man, before my iPod was stolen, I lived for collecting one hit wonders. I can't give just one though...so a few of my favorite one hit wonders other than Electric Ave would be...

Tommy Tutone: 867-5309

Modern English:  Melt With You

The Knack:  My Sharona

Nena:  99 Luftballoons

Faith No More:   Epic (they did have the song "midlife crisis," but not sure that counts as a hit)

Mark Cohn:  Walking in Memphis

Marcy Playground:  Sex and Candy

Blind Melon:  No Rain

Primitive Radio Gods:  Standing outside a broken phone booth with money in my hand

I agree it is so hard to pick one since the 80's was virtually a one hit wonder decade. I was alway partial to Big Country's In a Big Country.

Stroke, having owned the Blind Melon album with No Rain on it, it was one of my least favorite songs on the CD (althought it was the song that got me to buy it).

^^^ LOL...too funny, because I'm a huge Big Country fan (seen them twice in concert), and I'd never consider them a one hit wonder. I don't doubt the Blind Melon comment though... With new bands I'd never heard before, the release single is often one of my least favorite songs on the CD as well.

PS...pick up a copy of "The Seer" by Big Country one of these times and jam that puppy all the way through. The released single on that one "Look Away" is pretty good, but it's really tasty from cover to cover.

Oh hell yeah, I love that song...

Don Maclean: Bye Bye Miss American Pie

I can thumbs-up the other three, but Don McLean would have to be a 2-hit wonder, because "Vincent" ("Starry, starry night...) was pretty big as well. American Pie was just so iconic that it eclipsed the success of his other hit. Wink
