He's a fucking idiot.  Here's his chance to get a ring by contributing as a role player for a contender, and he goes to Kansas City??  It's colder than a witch's tits in December in Kansas City!!!!

qf tommy doesn't know what he is talking about.  He was claimed off waivers, not really his choice.

"He's an idiot."

Right, because he had a chance to choose where he went.

"player for a contender"

Right, because San Diego actually has a chance to make the playoffs.

Good Lord.

Wrong.  I'll admit I jumped the gun and posted that message before I realized the Chiefs had CLAIMED him off waivers.  But if he had cleared waivers and had a choice of teams to sign with, I would've gone to a contender if I were him.

I think Chicago should have mounted a trade for him.

Or claimed him off waivers, although maybe they tried to and KC got him because they had a worse record.

Other teams that could've used him are the Donkos and the Ravens.

Sidetrack for a funny memory... When the movie "Grumpy Old Men" came out, I went to see it at the theater with my girlfriend as a date movie, mainly because she literally worshipped the ground that Ann Margaret walked on. At the end of the movie, during the credits, they showed what might be the most insanely hilarious collection of out-takes ever assembled. Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon, Burgess Meredith...I laughed so hard I was crying. My favorite out-take was when Jack Lemmon was talking to his father (the 86 year old Burgess Meredith) about Ann Margaret's character, and Burgess ad-libbed the line... "Mount the woman, son...or send her on to me!" that still pops into my head any time the word "mount" is used.
