THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: November 15, 2009, 07:55:42 pm »

Mo-Jo Drew did this for the Jags today.  He eschewed a TD so the Jags could run down the clock and kick the winning FG.

I thought the Dolphins should have done this against the Texans last year

THe only thing is and Tom Jackson hit this right on the head, it's smart if you're going to win the game anyways, if you're losing, and you may think you have a gimme field goal and something happens, it's going to be your ass later.

I like it.  Like anything else, if it works you're a genius.

HA! I was thinking about that when it happened.  Jets weren't gonna cover anyway and the game was already over the total so I guess the mob is satisfied.

Punch the RB coach in the face because he told him to do that during the timeout before the play.

The strategy is one thing -- I can take it or leave it in this scenario.  But I really respect players who remember this and are selfless enough to do it.

This move is dumb as Hell if you ask me. You never take points off the board. He had a sure fire TD with 20 seconds left and did this for a chance at a FG. If it is blocked or missed you have single handedly cost your team the game. Dumb ass move and I would let the team know it if I was in charge.
