I have always thought that Dallas and Detroit on Thanksgiving kind of sucked.

I understand tradition, but tradition doesn't entertain me, when the near win-less Lions are getting trounced.

And this is one of those times where I say leave it be, it's tradition. What they need to do though is quit pitting Detroit against teams that may seriously trash them and match them up against another crap-ass or mediocre team. Last Sunday's Detroit / Cleveland game came down to the wire, it was pretty exciting.

I say treat these games as a kind of a Monday / Sunday night game, in terms of a balanced matchup. How Oakland got into this mix is beyond me. Wow.

Besides, isn't that why they added a third game? Hardly anyone watches the 12:00 game (Detroit).   Cheesy

My opinion hasn't changed since last year. Let Detroit & Dallas have their games.

I say stick with tradition...not that I care about either team but I usually always end up watching.

Give me three good football games, regardless of who the teams are, and I'm sure my turkey, tater, yam and pie engorgement would digest more efficiently.

I say that they should add another game in there.  Play 4 in a row, back to back to back to back.  It's all people do, TV revenues would be great, and the games would automatically sell out.

If Detroit was good, this wouldn't even be a conversation.

Leave it as it is, sometimes tradition is worth maintaining.  Don't like it?  Don't watch.

It was great back in the 90's when Brett Favre would square off against Barry Sanders and Herman Moore. Always a good contest, and then the Cowboys would go and lose to the Dolphins because of asshole Leon Lett.

^ I took it as leave it the way it is because nobody else wanted to do it when it started.  All the other teams that want to do it now because they want the money can eff off.

^ I took it as "before nobody wanted to, so you had free reign.  Now that people do, you have to share with everyone else."

We'll let Fau clarify.

I'd have to agree with Stl on this one as to what Fau meant, but like you said, let's hear it from him.
