I don't know.  He supposedly had a "great" offense when he was with the Patriots, but we all know how that offense made a name for itself.

Doesn't this belong in Other Sports?

Hate to tell you this but the offense is probably better off without him.

I think that Weiss' unfortunate end has more to do with Notre Dame than Weiss himself.  They are no longer an elite program, yet they expect elite results.  They used to be the dream stop for every Catholic father.  Now, not so much -- send your kids to Florida, Texas, USC, etc instead.  And the days of kids remembering Joe Montana are long gone.

It is going to be hard to recruit kids with the grade point requirement now. 20 years ago Lou did not have to worry so much about that pesky grade point average.

I don't think he lands back in New England. I can see him going to Kansas City - Scott Pioli is there, there's respect and he would not be working under BB.

I see him bagging my groceries at Hannaford next week.

He'll be fine....

Notre dame isn't an elite football school .. they're top-mid tier .. right along with the Iowas and Colorados of the world.

also, i don't see a way that ND can be a lure to the top recruits, unless they do something completely off the wall and unexpected with their football program .. like hiring urban meyer or something

Watch them throw money at Urban Meyer to get him to leave Gainesville.  Didn't Meyer attend Notre Dame?

Notre Dame isn't top anything, Fau. They're 6-6, which is shit for college football.

They haven't been relevant in over 20 years, if not more. They are the Vietnam War / 70's era team. Now it's all about "The U", Florida, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, and Alabama.

The whole "we have a national contract with NBC" argument is also very weak. There are 500 college football games on TV every week - as long as you play for any college at all, you'll probably be televised somewhere. NFL Scouts know about DirectTV and Dish Network now, so they don't need to see NBC and Notre Dame garbage-fest to recruit players.

F Notre Dame and the high horse that they rode in on.

Meyer isn't going anywhere. I've never seen so many Hurricane and Seminole fans so anxious to see this guy leave. Hurricane fans know Meyer will eventually win enough championships to pass them and Seminole fans realize they will continue to take ass beating from him on an annual basis. Get used to it the Gators aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Why would you leave Florida for Notre Dame anyway?

Because Meyer stated Notre Dame was his Dream Job 2 years ago. He's turned them down twice. Only the media and jealous haters of the gators want him to leave.

You don't understand Dave.

Coaches use salty language so Meyer, after hanging around Tebow, doesn't want to go to hell.

So he'll take the Notre Dame job just to clean up his language.

Especially when he speaks at banquets.
