Whining about France is so lame. The guy is a player, not a ref. In the speed of a game, he hit the ball with his hand. Who gives a shit? The call wasn't made, the league chose not to have replay, so you have to live with it. It's one play in a 90 minute game. It's a big play, but still...
If you don't want handballs, have instant replay.
Completely agree. We did get screwed by the officiating system though, and we can talk about that all day.
As soon as we'd conceded the goal, everyone was shouting about the handball, but i was looking at the defender (Paul McShane), who by letting the ball bounce in his own box, committed a cardinal sin which is drilled into players, especially defenders, from the age of around 9 onwards.
Yeah he handballed it, then touched it onto his right foot, but anyone who plays knows that this kind of thing happens because the game is so fast. It lies with the officials to spot it, they didn't, end of story.
Maybe you never heard of this in the States, but a group of around 300 people marched on the French Embassy in Dublin, demanding a replay of the match - the whole thing just turned into a f***ing embarrassment, along with bothering Henry at the Barcelona training ground.
I am sick of hearing about this stupid handball by France. Soccer is a 90 minute minute match with an aboslutely enormous goal to kick the ball into, yet every game is 1-0.
Denver its obvious that you simply just don't understand soccer enough to appreciate it, if that is your disposition towards the game. Bear in mind i say the exact same thing to idiots who tell me that NFL has "too many stoppages" or is only played "by loads of fat dudes".
