Hi I’m Lil B
I am a fantasy sports junkie…This is the first year, I’ve not made the playoffs in a fantasy football league…and I’ve got twitches, and urges to scour any website that covers the NFL, for any tidbit of info that I can apply to my Fantasy team…I have the urge to study last weeks box scores for injuries, no names that have stepped up, and under utilized players that my be on the waiver wire….My Direct T.V. dish is set up for Player tracker, and I use both teams to watch every player on my team….

What game shall I watch after the Dolphins game, now that I don’t have any fantasy players involved?  Do I still watch the Thursday night game Colts visiting the Jaguars? Do I still root for Austin Collie? I know that Fantasy Sports have cost people jobs, probably a few marriages, and relationships….So I’m here for Help wit My addiction….I am the Lil B, and I am a fantasy Junkie….

"Hi, Lil_B!!"

You should cheer for my team on the ESPN leaderboard...we need all the support we can get.

Getting into fantasy basketball helps, as it provides a crutch for your addiction between fantasy football and baseball seasons...something to get ya through the tough patches. Some of the other smaller games on ESPN help as well, but they're simply gateway drugs that lead to the harder games.

Good to see you making the meetings, Lil_B. Coffee and cookies are in the back...and together, we'll beat this addiction!

Lil B.  I don't know about jobs, but if you find a woman who likes sports too it makes being a fantasy addict a lot easier.  Smiley

The twelve steps for Fantasy Sports Anonymous:

1.  We admitted that we were powerless over Fantasy Sports.  That our lives had become unmanageable.

2.  We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

Anyone else want to continue?

I don't agree with #2, as basic fantasy smack etiquette dictates that there is no power greater than myself. Wink

Who said they have a problem?   I don't have a problem.  I can quit anytime I want.

Hello, my name is Thundergod and I may need help too. Hi B!

My addiction may be minor but I think it helps when you lose as much as I do in fantasy football. It gets easier by the year, like a numb feeling, if you will. After the injury bug killed me this year and tallying a 3rd losing season in 5 years, I swore I would quit fantasy football. You know what it's like to lose to teams that are run by people who;

A. Forget to substitute their players on bye weeks and still beat you?
B. Get flat out lucky on draft day and pick up a bum(s) from last year that decided to be on full blast this year?
C. Had 1 player have their personal best game of the season... against YOU?
D. Who wouldn't know Chris Johnson from Slappy Johnson?

OR getting PUNKED by an overhyped player from the year before and wasting a draft pick on him?

But I... can't... quit... I quit fantasy baseball, I went cold turkey and I've been clean for over a year now. But I just can't seem to do it with football.

...these are good cookies.

B,

The best thing to do is just get it out of your mind during the off-season.  You'll make yourself crazy overpreparing at a time when little is known about a lot of players and teams.  Then, a month or so before your draft, start doing some mock drafts to get back into it.  Draft strategy is just as important as picking the right guys.

But, don't try to fill the fantasy football gap, by putting something else in its place.  Just forget it.  It's like an ex-girlfriend.  As soon as you're finally over it, she comes back.

Word up to TG! That's exactly how I feel when I play fantasy Baseball

I agree with Dave's advise....The part that is killing me,knowing people are still playing...I get these urges after the season, but no one is really playing...

I sent them an email, asking if they had any good sleeper picks for the playoffs. Still awaiting a response...

I'm sure they're all good "sleeper" picks themselves.   Grin
