OK for all you Pennington bashers.   Next year when penny is healthy and henne still here,  who do you start on opening day?   We've seen Henne  for the better part of a season now,   who's better.   I know one thing, pennington with his lack of arm strength didn't have this many int's in 2 years combined,  had a better completion pct and probably more completed yrds.  Grin

Pennington starts next year

Henne starts no question.

Penny doesn't have the armstrength.  I doubt Penny will even be on the roster.

If Penny's on the roster, it will be to provide leadership on the sideline and mentor Henne.

It's Henne's first year, are we seriously already calling for him to be gone?  O yea, Dolphins fans.

Edited to Add: The fact we even had a couple of December games that matter with the sub-par receivers we have says a lot.  Henne has been throwing to practice squad guys all year.

No way Pennington starts next year unless Henne gets hurt in the offseason.  I don't know if he will even be on the roster, however I wouldn't mind firing Dan Henning, promoting David Lee to Offensive Coordinator, and having Pennington become the QB coach.

I think we need a veteran backup in case of injuries.

Could it be Pennington?  Maybe.

We already have 3 QB's on our roster,I have a real hard tme seeing why we'd resign Pennington...He's making roughly 4 million this year,Thigpen will make 500K,Henne About 470 K, and Umm yeah Pat white 395 K +1,538,154 option bonus  Huh According to Rotoworld....

I think It;s Henne's job to lose, going into next year...

How dare a rookie QB throw interceptions!!!

Henne is playing very well for a rookie and can very well be the Rookie of the Year. I am very happy with his improvement as the season has progressed and think he has a bright future with us. We just need to drop Ginn and pick up a real WR and he can be one of the better QB's in the AFC by next season. Not saying much, but it's a start  Wink

Although I agree with most of your post because I really like Henne, he can't be rookie of the year because he's not technically a rookie.

Henne starts next year. I don't know if Pennington will WANT to stay in Miami when he could go somewhere and at least compete for the starting job.

That said, Henne has a lot of things to work on. A few things I thought he could do initially, well, it appears he cannot. And in some areas there has been zero progression. Positives include pocket presence, which has improved dramatically, and his over-the-middle rockets. He also throws a good out and a good comeback. However, despite showing off a good touch ball in one of his first starts, he has shown very poor touch on medium to long passes. The fade, especially in the end zone, needs to be completely ripped out of the playbook for Henne. Not only can't he actually throw the pass, he also makes REALLY bad decisions (including an INT in yesterdays game, but hardly the only bad decision on those plays).

Henne has brought us back in several games. Penny could never do that as he can't get chunk yardage and has to have the run game. Outside of having pretty stats he really doesn't measure up to Henne and especially the potential that Henne possesses.

There's absolutely no question, Henne is the starter from day one.

If Henne doesn't start next season i would be shocked. This is his team now and will only get better.

CF hit it on the head.  Pennington's game is short yardage, dink and dunk.  Pennington never throws a ball deeper than 15 yards.  Henne stretches the field (whether we use it or not) to keep opposing DB's honest.

We just need to get a dynamic playmaker WR to support Bess/Ginn/Camarillo/Hartline.
